It's Only Dinner || Brittana

One of the other things no one had ever mentioned to Brittany about having a baby was the sheer amount of stuff it required.  Even something as simple as going out for dinner required a diaper bag, some stuffed animals, her purse, and a squirming toddler - making her wish that she had a lot more than two hands.  If she were an octopus or something, life would be so much simpler.  But then she'd have to live in the ocean, and she really didn't like water very much.  So there was a trade-off either way.  She'd settle for being human, she guessed.  "Come on, stinky," she prodded her daughter's stomach, loving the little giggle that escaped her.  "It's time to go and visit Tana, she might have a prezzie for you!"  Slinging her diaper bag, purse and bag of stuffies over one arm, she grabbed Lizzie with the other and headed out of her small apartment down to the subway.

The trains were running on time, which was a miracle, and it was only an hour later when she found herself standing in front of a huge apartment building.  Brittany tried never to be envious of anyone, to be grateful for what she had, but it was hard to fathom that Santana lived in a place like this while she still had to fight off cockroaches some nights.  But then, Santana was smart.  She'd graduated, built a future.  Brittany was working a low-paying job with a child she'd never meant to have.  It was inevitable, she guessed.  Even if it didn't seem fair.  Approaching the building, she bounced a fussy toddler and pressed the buzzer, waiting for Santana to answer.  "You can say hi, okay?" she prompted her daughter.  "Wait until Santana says hi, and then you can answer.  Show mommy what a big girl you are!"

Only Dinner // Dave

Victoria sat patiently in her room waiting for Dave to knock on her door. She honestly didn't know why she was doing this. Firstly, she would much rather be studying. She had a test in two weeks and an essay due on Friday. Secondly, if she had to go out, she would have prefered to spend her evening with Kris Howard. Not some guy she had just met. Thirdly, even though she didn't like Lily, this rape rumour had sort of freaked her out. She had almost considered asking Lily about it herself before Christopher and Zack came along, demanding that she not see him. 'How dare they!' Victoria had never been one to do as she was told, at least outside of the business world, and she would be damned if that was going to change now. She was a lot tougher than she looked. If Dave tried anything she would find an escape.

She removed her eyes from the window and checked her watch. She had text Dave about half an hour ago to tell him her room number. Stupid, now that she thought about it. If he turned out to be like everyone said he was he now knew where to find her alone. Christopher wouldn't be too happy with her for that, not that he was happy with her now. Victoria glanced back out of the window and sighed. 'He better take me somewhere good.'
