Looking at this bts pic makes me think of how Buck felt when he first got in the Stalag, being shot down on a mission and let's add the traumatic experience of the real Buck Cleven almost being lynched by the Germans then arriving at the POW camp.
He probably thought that he'll be OK if Bucky was still free and fighting in the war but then Bucky's squad shows up at the camp and they are "Yeah Bucky was shot down too, is he not here yet?"
And Buck would feel so crushed and devastated, his last hope was dieing and the worst part was Bucky was still missing.
Buck would go to the barb wire wall and hope Bucky makes it thru the gates, hopes he is still alive, but on the inside he is really loosing all hope.
He would joke with his men that Bucky was just waiting to make his grand appearance, or that the Germans couldn't catch him just to relax the anxious atmosphere in their cabin and hide how worried he was.
But his heart was hurting that he was never going to see Bucky again.
And then one day there he was!
His Bucky, his best friend, the only person he belonged to .... he was finally here.
