I hate to be the one to ask, but why is the three nipple joke funny? (I know, I know, explaining the joke makes it not funny anymore, but I honestly don't get it. I also did not read the book, soooo.... :-/ )
I mean, it’s perhaps not objectively funny, I just find it so. It’s just, having more than two nipples is a sign of being a witch -- that’s historical, you can find it in witchcraft literature and such -- and I get a kick out of the fact that Shadwell asks everyone he suspects of being a witch how many nipples they’ve got without offering context, and with the expectation that they’ll tell the truth, and everyone just sort of bewilderedly tells him that they’ve only got the two.

I’m so glad I’m not alone in not enjoying the Newt bits in the book (and in the show it’s really... just ok)
So far they’ve been gratifyingly brief. I did talk with some people who said they didn’t like the Newt scenes in the book either and that the show seemed to have fixed them but they weren’t sure how, and I think it’s just “made them much shorter” :D
I think it’s the same reason I don’t really care for Rincewind in the Wizard books, especially the early ones -- “bad things always happen to X” can get stale very quickly if you’re not careful, and Newt (like Rincewind) is so dully hapless about it. He is a very Pratchettian antihero in that sense, but I prefer the characters like Vimes who are essentially in a similar situation but have an angry edge to them. Vimes knows he’s being kicked around by fate and is pissy about it, and that makes him so much more interesting.

i reread the book right before the show aired and i'm pretty sure there was nothing in it that suggested both sword were actually the same. nothing at all.

I never connected War's sword with Aziraphale's sword either in the book. I actually thought hey, nifty idea when I watched the tv series but now I'm like - wait, IS it like that in the books? Did I miss this???
Maybe it’s not in the book! I’m planning to re-read once I’ve watched the show. I do remember always thinking it was odd there were two such significant swords in the book, but I never put it together that they might be the same.
hey! i just wanted to say that i absolutely adore your art style and i've just been looking at your noir art to get inspired to write my fic lol ANYWAY, thank you for sharing your art!!!! it's lovely!!!
hello! ahhh thank you so much! i miss noir and i want to make more noir art but! motivation!
may you never lack the muse and motivation needed to do your writing! x
I was just looking at your tattooed Steve art and noticed you gave him a NIPPLE RING AS WELL I’m deceased, you are fantastic thank you for illustrating that magnificent piece of work more power to you omg
Akfkkgkgkg thank you!
I have a confession tho. That nipple piercing was added at the very last moment when my thirst overtook my senses.
I’m not the anon who sent the ask but I literally cannot focus on work because I keep thinking about that scene in CW where Tony’s like “did you know” and DID STEVE KNOW!!!??? HOW DID HE KNOW??? and if he did how would he have even said it oh my g o d
I’M SO SORRY I LEFT U HANGING YESTERDAY, BUB! i hope u didn’t get in trouble for not focusing on ur work, though fjkdsfkjk. that scene.... god, i know. i think it’s pretty safe to say steve did know, somehow, seeing as he half-assed confirmed it (”i didn’t know it was him” “don’t bulLSHIT ME, ROGERS! did. you. know?’ “yes.”). now as for HOW did he know... well, we saw in CATWS, he & nat finding evidence of tony’s parents’ murder being HYDRA work, but how he went from point A (knowing it was HYDRA) to point B (associating the whole thing with bucky, specifically), i have no idea lmao. i think between CATWS and CACW, he must have done some kind of metal leap and “connected the dots”, but. if you allow me to be candid, the writers did such a lazy fucking job on that front - as usual lol. it’s such a key plot point and they just left it to the audience to figure out how all that shit hit the fan.
Hey I just wanted to drop by and let you know that sometimes I still think about your Marvel Noir fics and god, I am so in awe of your writing and the way you craft your stories. Thank you so much for sharing your words with us. ❤️
Aww, thank you so much! That really means a lot to me!
Noir is one of the universes that I don’t have a lot of fic in, because I find it more challenging as a writer -- not only do I have to do all the 30s/40s period research, Iron Man Noir is specifically a pulp action-adventure and emulating that style takes a lot of work for me because I was never really into those kinds of books and I didn’t watch the Indiana Jones movies as a child because I was terrified of them. (I don’t think I saw the first one until college and I honestly am not sure if I’ve seen them all.)
So I’m very glad that you like the Noir fic I do have, I guess is what I’m saying. I’m glad the effort did not go to waste! :)
(I have a couple of 30s/40s ideas in my Giant Ideas List but I don’t think any of them are Noir specifically. Mostly I just really want to write a massive 616 AU where Steve and Tony are involved in 1930s Thoroughbred racing. Someday.)
I wish you were coming here to ask me something else. Anything else.
Good luck on your mission, Captain. Good luck on your... project, Doctor.
