OnS Theories (16S). Fourth Theory - Reason why Shikama was able to possess Shinoa easily and the mission of the Sinful Keys

One of the things the fandom has been wondering it’s related to why or how Shikama was able to pop in the middle of the conversation between Krul and Shinoa; therefore, let’s talk about said topic, shall we?

But, before we start wondering why he possessed her easily in chapter 98, let’s recall some events to explain why such event happened

As far as we know, Shikama Doji was able to possess Shinoa by taking Yu and Ashera as hostages back in chapter 74:

Of course Yu and Ashera weren’t rivals to the First due to the inmense amount of power he has; thus it lead to Shinoa go in opening her heart and rescue them; this only allowed the First Progenitor to fulfill one of his many tasks to do to fulfill or achieve his dream of revenge or whatever he seeks within the story. As far as we know, his past and all his actions are shrouded in mystery.

But now, returning to the main topic, we might recall that Shikama took total possession of Shinoa in chapter 76 after Ferid aimed to make the First appear in a “weakened state”, and you might wonder how I can state that.

For that, let’s recall that the First was taking Shinoa’s possession at his own rythmn, but of course Ferid didn’t allow such thing:

Within this, the First Progenitor slowly started to “play” around with the vampires that sided with the humans; until Rigr Stafford came in and started to have a serious fight against the First; eventually, the events on which Guren used 3 sinful keys to restrain the First Progenitor came in; but within this, the First Progenitor stated something rather curious:

He stated he could resist the effects of the Sinful Keys but that’d be harmful to Shinoa since she was still a human that didn’t go through a vampire transformation state.

Therefore, does this mean the sinful keys failed?

No. But why or how can I state such thing?

The Sinful Keys alone were used for one sole reason asides from buying time, what could it be?

Correct. The sinful keys used against the First were used mainly to seal him or trap him within one sole body but, how can I be so sure about this?

Back in chapter 57, Kureto got possessed by the First, though, his demon Raimeki managed to withstand such event, allowing the First to roam freely; but then again, how can I be so sure about this?

That’s easy:

Shikama heads to visit Asuramaru

Therefore, it can be said that Shikama had freedom to invade other hearts easily in order to achieve his goals or seeking ways to invade and finally possess Shinoa’s heart; therefore, this shows that the Sinful Keys held down certain effect, and that was to restrain his freedom:

We can state that if Guren had the 7 Sinful Keys, the effects would have been much bigger compared to 3 sinful keys; but that alone was something Guren and Mahiru aimed; and that is to save Shinoa’s life from the First Progenitor without the need to kill her or sacrifice her.

But now, why did Shikama reappear after they used those 3 Sinful Keys?

That’s easy, if many might recall, Shinoa and the First Progenitor might not be close in terms of fondness compared to Yu and Asuramaru’s bond as wielder and demon; but, their link goes in a different form; what do I mean?

It means that whenever Shinoa would be endangered, Shikama would protect her even if it’s focused for own personal selfish objectives and of course, that’s awfully displayed in the next panel:

But of course, about how this change happened will be explained in another theory.

Returning once again to the main theory, it can be concluded that the Sinful Keys were only there to stop the First Progenitor from roaming freely to his own will; hence why when Mahiru used a special drug, they delayed even more the moves of the First Progenitor to track down the demon Mikaela.

As for Shinoa and the reason she was possessed easily, it’s because the door to her heart was left open when she went to save Yu; despite supressing her emotions, she already stated the side effects of it:

Correct, her body no longer belongs to her alone after the possession and her rescue; therefore, for the First Progenitor is easier to take over her when there’s something that catches his interest forehand; such as tracking down the demon Mikaela.

But now; many might wonder why Shinoa is so easily to possess and perhaps the conclusion is because her desires alone were released but, in fact, that’s not the issue; what do I mean?

Shinoa Hiragi doesn’t views herself as someone worthy to save.

Perhaps readers might dismiss the idea of such thought but Shinoa has been carrying a sense of guilt for a long time; and that is something visible in the last volume of the Catastrophe at 16 LNs; after Shikama returned to her; Shinoa learnt that her sister sacrificed herself so she could live up a more peaceful life; to add more to this, in chapter 72, after realizing that her sister was protecting her from a monster, she deemed herself as the only one that held down the path of happiness to her sister and Guren Ichinose; furthermore, the fact that she allowed Shikama Doji possess her alone, it was something that despite she aimed to save her family, it also caused damage to the outside world.

Those emotions alone, make her doubt if she should keep going or not.

But well, the story must keep going, and we can only wait to see how this girl will eventually evolve in future chapters.

OnS Theories (17S). Sixth Theory - The process to reach Mikaela’s samsara

Hello everyone, this is another theory I’m sharing with you, I hope you’re eating well and staying healthy!

A samsara is a cycle of birth and death but it also involves suffering and of course, the fact that demon Mikaela is admiring a dream is actually a torture for eternitty, and endless cycle that despite he is not recalling his former memories, a lingering part of him suffers for not knowing.

You might wonder how it’s possible to reach that place on which the battle between Asuramaru and Mikaela is taking place; but the answer to this is actually simple.

Back in chapter 73, when Shikama Doji was aiming to possess Shinoa, he decided to pay a visit to Asuramaru who didn’t have his memories at that time; Asuramaru tried to face him but he couldn’t due to the difference of strength; after that, Yu went to visit Shinoa and Shinoa detected that something wasn’t correct and within this, Shinoa gave the key to Yuichiro to reach Asuramaru:

Correct. Once the wielder and the demon synchronyze their hearts, the wielder is able to reach his demon within their heart; therefore, what does that mean?

That means that, thanks to Yu and Asuramaru’s contract, Yu will be able to track down Asuramaru faster in order to reach and find Mikaela within said world but, there’s an issue, and a big one, what could it be?

Yu won’t face Asuramaru all alone; Yu will face Three Black Demons in order to rescue Mikaela; said demons will be Kiseki-O, Gekkouin and Asuramaru; but then, what could possibly happen within this?

There are two scenarios:

1. The follow up of the squad

If Yu eventually has struggles to face down three demons since they can use their own special abilities; there’s a possibility that either Yoichi or Kimizuki hop in while Guren, Mahiru, Mitsuba, and one of the boys end up helping with the ritual and the barrier in order to prevent the First Progenitor catch Mikaela.

Among this, it must be considered that Shinoa will delay such event:

Correct; she’s going to return and face down Shikama Doji again in order to keep him restrained but that’ll be spoken in another theory.

Nevertheless, since Shinoa is aware of Shikama’s plan and the fact she heard him ordering Ashera to capture Mikaela’s soul, there’s a possibility that she might detect that the other demons are following the same order; thus giving the opportunity for one of the boys to reach Yu with the same synchronization given.

Within this, it’ll give the opportunity for Yu to have the time to enter in contact with Mikaela, and, of course, the most favorable one to join him in said world would be Kimizuki since he’s the one who knows Kiseki-O’s powers the most.

2. Yu makes a contract with Mikaela

Within this scenario, it’s possible that Yu might be able to fend agains the three demons since he’ll be able to use the weapon Asuramaru is tied with in order to counter his attacks, such thing is visible with Shinoa:

Among this, there might be an opportunity for him to bring down Mika to come with him in order to keep him and stop the demons from hunting him and ruining part of the First Progenitor’s plans.

Despite Yu’s behavior of his common silly or goofy moments, Yu is a good fighter, he is aware of his surroundings despite him being reckless, and if it means to save Mikaela, it’s highly possible he’ll do everything to save him even if that means setting him in a cursed gear.

While it’s a short theory, there are two options that could benefit Yu at the end, what do you think guys?

OnS Theories (17S). Fourth Theory - Yu vs Ashera

Hello everyone, I hope you’ve been doing well, this is another theory that will be brought for you; stay safe!

This theory will be rather short since it’s mostly on what could happen between Yu and Ashera.

P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded.

As far as we know, all of the existing demons regained their memories thanks to the awakening of the demon Mikaela and within this, Ashera was ordered to capture Mikaela’s soul for the First Progenitor:

Of course, said moment took place at the same time Shinoa was struggling with Shikama:

After such events, Shikama stopped telling Ashera one of the humans managed to hear his thoughts; therefore, this lead to Shinoa reveal who is exactly working with the First Progenitor; thus leading Yu to head off to Ashera’s place:

The chapter stopped before Yu managed to find the door to Mika’s world; but, within this, why does the theory state a vs?

As @mikaisyuudere​ pointed, Yu has a strong attachment to Ashera and perhaps that might stop him from doing any move but, will you be able to confront Ashera?

The answer to this is a positive yes. Why is that?

The reason to this is because Yu, despite seeing Ashera as his friend, he wishes and longs to rescue Mikaela; he is aware that Mika protected him and thus his life was taken away but the fact that his squad leader has revealed that Shikama Doji is the one toying with humanity, this leads for Yu to actually cooperate about rescuing Mika; but then, how would a battle between Yu and Ashera go?

1. Restraining

If many might recall, the place on which Yu entered is within his heart, and his heart is tied to Mikaela’s samsara or dream world; but then, is it possible for Yu to restrain Asuramaru?

There’s a possibility he can:

Back in chapter 20 when the squad was in training, Yu had to made a bond with his demon in order to receive more power; but within this, there was a curse binding Asuramaru due to Yu not allowing him to go further unwillingly; therefore, one of the methods Yu could use in order to not face Asuramaru but keeping him at bay would be restraining him with said chains so he won’t harm Mikaela.

But, will this be effective?

The issue is, it is unknown if such chains will work within Mikaela’s world despite being linked with Ashera’s which is Yu’s heart.

It’s a small possibility but not something that could happen.

2. Command

An interesting point to note is that Yu has authority over Asuramaru or that has been displayed in previous chapters such as:

In said chapter, Asuramaru was trapped by Shikama Doji and couldn’t escape from him until Shinoa told Yu about it; this eventually made Yu focus and reach Asuramaru until he gave the command in order to set him free from Shikama’s grasp.

Therefore, what does this imply?

It implies that if Yu gives the command, Asuramaru will be bound by the logic of the cursed gear and will be limited in actions if Yu so does command or desire it.

Does it mean this will be the point to stop Asuramaru?

While it is true this method saved Asuramaru, it is unknown if it’ll have the power to keep it at bay, therefore, the possibilities of happening are very low.

3. Combat

While this last option is barely seen within the manga, it is the least impossible; what do I mean?

It is highly possible for the wielder to face down its own demon in order to take control of it which is something heavily seen with Shinoa and Shikama Doji. Despite not having a huge combat, there are confrontrations between them.

Therefore, it can be said this is one of the options that Yu could apply towards Asuramaru in order to bind him or restrain his actions in order to rescue Mikaela.

4. Tactic or bait

As funny this might sound, there’s a possibility that Yu might actually bait Mikaela without allowing Asuramaru to come closer; specially since Guren in the outside and the squad are working to set up a barrier and a ritual to create a cursed gear; but within this, how exactly would this benefit Yu if Asuramaru might come too?

The issue is, he could apply one of the first options with a time limit in order to let the demon Mikaela possess him in order to devour his desires and make a contract with him, allowing Yu have the chance to eventually return the demon Mikaela his memories back.

OnS Theories (15S). Second Theory - The Importance of Ashera’s Memories

Well, good evening everyone, I hope you’ve been doing well, we’ll start up with the theory season, as for now, let’s talk about something relevant and this is mainly thanks to @saltysourpatch1​ for the concept idea along the depth of it; therefore, let’s begin!

As of late, I believe many might have read the latest chapter, within this chapter, there was something rather curious and unexpected, what do I mean?

Correct. Kiseki-O asked Asuramaru if he regained or recalled who he was:

It implies that Kiseki-O’s memories came back in one exact point, but, what does this have to do with Ashera?

If many might recall, Ashera has always been a special demon along the fact that he was favored by the First Progenitor due to the fact he was the First Person that turned into a vampire thanks to Ancient Yu’s blood; he was also the First test subject to give answers to what he longed for centuries:

More over, it only gives strength to the fact that once the First Progenitor was able to get in touch with Ashera, his main goal wasn’t triviality but instead, he wanted to remember who he was and what he was done to him:

Despite this, Ashera was unable to recall all his past until Rigr interfered with something special that was used by the Hyakuya Sect; said thing was administrated on Yu which only managed or allowed Ashera to recall his past, or mostly, how he lost his life and became a vampire.

But now, why are Ashera’s memories so relevant?

After regaining his memories, he was able to link with Yu in a deeper way, something that Guren never was able to achieve which was to have both consciousness while being taken over by his demons.

What do I mean?

If many might recall, back in chapter 87, Yu asked for power to Asuramaru, since he wasn’t able to defeat Guren by the difference of power between them, therefore, Asuramaru ended up possessing him entirely but, the process was different since the possession was with total willingness of the wielder, such events only lead Ashera to unleash everything along his presence:

Now, you might wonder why his presence is relevant along his memories, this is due to the fact that Ashera is a key; all the demons that slumbered within their cursed gears had no recollection of who they were; but despite this, Shikama focused so much on making Ashera remember who he was; he had all the time of the world to make other cursed gears awake their respective memories but once Ashera recovered them, it seemed like the long slumber Ashera went through finally broke.

But then, you might state that their memories were returned thanks to Mikaela after becoming a demon; within this, there’s an issue, the issue is that Mika is a demon with no memories.

While it’s true he’s now the most powerful demon due to the level of desires he once had; he’s a newborn demon, he has no memories of who he was except that he needs to feed in order to have strength; furthermore, Mikaela was born after Ashera recovered his memories and unleashed an act of presence in the world; but now, how can I state this if Urd, Ky Luc and Lest didn’t notice it?

If many might recall, the First Progenitor left the Vampire Council when Urd, Rigr, Krul, Noya and Ashera were around; Lest and Ky weren’t around nor were vampires around that time; furthermore, Urd is a vampire; but then, how was Krul able to detect her brother’s presence?

It could be said that Krul has knowledge of her brother’s scent, presence, and possibly, blood. They’re connected, just like how the Vampire Progenitors were able to detect or perceive the presence of the First, the same mechanic applies to Krul with her brother.

Returning to the main point of the theory. It could be said that Ashera is a key to the recovery of all demon’s memories; so far, with how the First stated “what was done to you” it could refer that before Ashera became a demon, there was certain process that he was submitted to so no demon would be able to recover its memories; but within this, there’s a certain degree of incongruence, what do I mean?

If many might recall, Noya seems to have memories of what the First did; but for that, it could be said this was thanks to Rigr; what do I mean?

In the World Resurrection Light Novels; Rigr used a Sinful Key on Mahiru, but, as we might recall, Mahiru merged with Noya, she devoured Noya so he could be sealed within her; therefore, it could be said thanks to that process, Noya managed to have recollections of his memories.

As for the other demons that were created, they were awaiting for the key to finally be able to remember who they were.

OnS Theories. Ninth Theory - Shinoa’s possession. A reflection of her hidden feelings and possible actions she could have done in the past.

This is the last theory I’ve come with. Unless someone has a topic we could discuss, this will be the last theory until new OnS chapters come in.

As we saw in chapter 77, Sika Madu was able to fully possess Shinoa’s body, leaving many readers in shock. But there’s something that made me curious after I read chapter 76 and 77.

Why do I think Shinoa’s possession is a reflection of her feelings?

Well, first of all, in chapter 76, Sika Madu protected Shinoa in order to save her from being killed by Ferid, therefore, Sika Madu literally cut him in two and well, in chapter 77 he did the same thing again and for what I saw, it seemed like he also cut his arms. But in Crowley’s case, Sika Madu literally aimed his head but, why do I still think this?

Well, when Shinoa met for the first time Crowley Eusford. Crowley tried to kill her, but of course, Yu, saved her by cutting Crowley’s arm; afterwards, in Shinjuki, Crowley drank Shinoa’s blood even though he first strangled her until she stopped resisting.

As we know, Sika Madu and Shinoa have their minds linked, which means they know what they’re thinking and that informations flows through their heads. Sika Madu knows that Shinoa has kept her heart closed, being unable to feel emotions such as anger, sadness, happiness, etc.; even so, he can tell what Shinoa has lived so far.

Therefore, there might be a small probability that now that Sika Madu is in Shinoa’s body, when he stopped to see Shinya,Kureto, Guren and Mika. He didn’t hesitate to attack them. 

The possible reasons are the next ones:

1) Kureto: Well, he hasn’t been the best brother figure but it’s because his life has been harsh, being compared to Mahiru, dealing with all the family struggles.But that aside, in order to make Guren split the truth, he treatened Shinoa to have her killed or raped when she was 7 years old. Afterwards, Kureto tried to kill her again in chapter 39. But of course, in each case, Guren and Yu managed to save her.

2)Shinya: Their relationship is good but, I have a lingering feeling that their relationship when Shinya was younger, was more likely that he would talk with her because of Mahiru, or that’s what she thought. Back then, Shinya would think about helping Guren with his revenge against the Hiragi house.

3)Guren: At first glance, when Shinoa learnt that Mahiru was Guren’s sword, she was bothered by it, because thanks to the rumors, She learnt that Guren killed her sister. And we know deep down Shinoa loved her just as Mahiru did but after chapter 72, she finally discovered the truth. Even so, taking Sika Madu’s part, he knows that Guren has Rigr’s blood because he was the one that caused the division inside of the Hiragi clan. Therefore, there might be a relation with why Sika Madu is attacking Guren.

4)Mika: Well, Mika was quite a difficult case, because it took long until he trusted Shinoa. Even if he trusted Shinoa, at the begining, he was quite rude with her while Shinoa had a calm demeanor. And this is just what happened in chapter 43.Afterwards, Mika started to accept the fact that Shinoa was a good person but her jokes weren’t at all. Even so, Sika Madu wouldn’t have an excuse to attack Mika, after all, he knows the things that happen around because he could see everything through Shinoa’s eyes.

Even so, this attitude, it’s just a metaphore, it’s not made in a literal sense. I mean, the reasons of why they’re being attacked, it’s in a deeper level of understanding. But I might be wrong.

Now with the last thing in relation with Shinoa’s demeanor as a kid. As we read in chapter 77, we saw Shinoa’s look with Shikama’s eyes, even so her face was filled with the whole intention to have fun with attacking or killing the group.

Even so, this murder aura is not new, and this is thanks to the second volume of the light novels. When Guren first met Shinoa, he thought about how Shinoa could display a high level of danger from her little body. As he said, Shinoa had a murderous aura.

And this is just a theory but, what if Shinoa was more dangerous before Mahiru managed to extract her demon?

It’s just a guessing but, I kind of believe that Mahiru altered her memories before she extracted her demon. Even though, some of her memoiries returned when Shikama returned to her side.

Also, as a side note, I once read fans exclaiming how Shinoa was able to perceive Asuramaru in chapter 73. And let me tell you guys, this isn’t new. She was always able to. In the last volume of the Catastrophe, she thought about how she could see other demons.

And this can be seen when Yu and Kimizuki start their training in chapter 19 and 20. The same happened when Yoichi was about to be possessed in chapter 51. When Gekkouin tried to motivate Yoichi to kill Lacus.
