OnS Theories - Demon Mikaela. The Opposite of Demons
Something rather cute I spotted in the latest chapter admist all the chaos it had, thus I hope you enjoy reading this
So we might all found it out that a very important part of Catastrophe at 16 light novels weren't on its manga (that major scene about Guren and Shinya talking together after Shinya saved Guren from Seishiro) and as the first one who found it out the moment that chapter 38 had been released then I can completely do understand people are too mad and angry (I talked about it on my Instagram long ago the moment that chapter 38 released)
But why Asami did this?
Or was it even Asami sensei or Kagami?!
Well I tell you that was Kagami's decisione.
Why?
Can you remember Catastrophe at 16 manga chapter 37?
And then can you remember ONS main manga chapter 96?
Yes dears Catastrophe at 16 last chapter was a door to ONS main manga.
So I think that was Kagami who asked Asami sensei to skip that very important part of novel (Although I still hope that Asami sensei will draw that scene later at least as a bonus chapter)
But why Kagami would want such thing?
Cause this chapter of Catastrophe at 16 (chapter 38) RELATES to ONS main manga future chapter (chapter 97).
So exactly cause this I guess that ONS next chapter won't continue Krul and Yuu's story anymore and will back to the main plot again.
(Hopefully)
So, who do you think Mika is going to possess now?
OnS Theories (19S). Second Theory - Victory or Despair. Shinoa against time
lHello everyone, chapter 101 was quite a blow, but it also gave away something that perhaps might not end well depending a lot on what each reader aims for.
I hope you’ve been doing alright dear readers, remember to stay hydrated!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiHA7Aw2GiE
As I stated, latest chapter gave an insight of hope thanks to the last panel on which Yu finally was able to reach Mika after the ordeal the black demons set upon him in order to capture him; of course, the human team rushed, specially Yu in order to save him from the grasp of the First Progenitor:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 101
But despite this, why do I make a question about victory and despair? And how exactly does this relate to Shinoa?
If many might recall, Shinoa was “temporary saved” due to a drug her sister used in order to supress the cells of the First Progenitor, of course, it’s a matter of time whenever she can truthfully seal him or not, but, is there a proof there might be despair or victory for the human team?
In fact, both are correct. For that, let’s get into depth.
Hope for humanity
The victory is at hands for the humans in terms of sealing Mikaela, but as many might have wondered, how does that count as victory?
As I stated in other theories, along the behavior of the demons that literally made a hell out of Mikaela in the latest chapter:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 101
It is clear that the First Progenitor does not seek Mika to protect him or save him; instead the latter, he aims to use him, and of course, I’m very aware that readers do consider the same thing in terms of making Mika or rather holding him within a cursed gear, but, how does this count as saving?
Guren indeed is an anti-hero, he left morality even if it’s not something that he wished to do since there’s grief and regret within him but it’s been 8 years of planning everything, and what he aims for is not to use Mika for selfish goals but rather, the main goal is to not give more power to the First; along with the fact that Guren aims to brigh forward the light that will face down the darkness or to put it bluntly, to make a battle between an angel and devil.
There’s actually a third reason but that’ll be revealed in another theory! If I were you, I’d make sure to stay tuned!
Asides from the points mentioned, the reason why Mika needs to be sealed, is due to the fact that if he remains without possessing a human, he’ll eventually vanish, but how can I say such thing?
It’s actually simple, if many might have noticed, the demon Mikaela has remained in a space of Dream World or Samsara; but, back when he appeared in the real world, he stated he needed to hurry on finding a human:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 95
In said panel, after Mika finally appeared as a demon, he went to certain space and saw he was vanishing since he didn’t devour desires; which would explain why he appeared within the dream world and stayed there watching, since keeping his presence in the real world would put an ordeal for him.
But returning once again to the main topic of the theory, if there’s hope for humanity, how can despair exist?
Despair for humanity
One of the things that were noticed within the chapter is that both factions have their hands on something, in the case of humans, they will be able to save up Mikaela from the ambitions of the First Progenitor since it sums up that he needed Mika’s soul to be broken.
But in terms of despair the answer to this is actually simple:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 101
After Ashera managed to break Mikaela; he stated something important: “The first would wake soon”.
He told Gekkouin that there was no need to worry since he’d return again, and, along this, there’s something that couldn’t be dismissed:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 101
Shikama still has his vessel and the fact that he will awake soon along the fact that Shinoa’s smile given when Guren stated the policies of the squad about being family, gave a hint that she’s on her limit of restraining Shikama Doji, but how can I state this?
Shinoa’s smile is often carried as a personal mask to what she truthfully feels; in fact, in previous chapters when she was still alright without losing control of her own body, her smiles would carry truth or confidence, something implying that things would be okay or rather, they gave confidence towards the direction of future events, but thanks to the directions of the latest chapters, said smile gives a message of hope that the results at the end turn good for everyone she knows, but within said statement, there’s also a hint of sadness, it’ss not a smile carrying out confidence like the usual Shinoa portrays it.
Returning to other facts to despair of humanity, you’ll recall that Krul and Guren haven checked Shinoa if she was able to keep restraining the FIrst along the fact that the drug that Mahiru used only had a limited amount of time to give its effects, furthermore, if you might recall this:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 100
Krul is in fact taking measures and keeping Shinoa on check not because she cares but rather, because she’s aware that if the First Progenitor takes over her, everything will be over, hence why all the squad was hurrying on bringing Mika back since he’s the one of the main targets of the First Progenitor.
Therefore, what does this theory imply at the very end?
There’s a possibility that Shinoa will get possessed again after the First Progenitor fully awakes, leading to Shinoa be sealed or “asleep” for an unknown determinated amount of time, but, does that mean the First will proceed to attack the group?
There’s a possibility that in fact, the First might take a leave leading the human team to start a new strategy to separate the First from Shinoa in order to give a final confrontation against him.
Among this, there’s still a need for answers related to the vampire progenitors along the whereabouts of Ferid and Crowley all together with the past of the Sanguu sisters and what humanity will do towards the very end.
What do you think dear readers? what do you expect for next chapter?
Let me know!
OnS Theories (16S). Third Theory - Demon Mikaela's powers and abilities
Hello everyone, good evening!
I hope you’ve been well, it’s quite thrilling to be back writing and sharing down theories, but nevertheless, I hope you guys stafe safe and sound!
For today’s theory, I’d like to talk about something that caught my eye, and that’s the demon Mikaela Hyakuya.
NOTE: Theories are held within a neutral view. Ships are excluded
Several months ago, we’ve wondered on how exactly Mikaela’s powers would be like, or how exactly would he be able to manifest and so on, therefore, let’s talk about Mika’s powers.
Therefore, let’s begin!
As many might recall, Mikaela became a vampire due to a plan that has been settled on stone for 8 years; when he started to become a vampire; he eventually appeared in a dreamland or dream bubble, on which his biggest desire was fulfilled:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 93
Correct, he was with the most important beings of his life, that was the Hyakuya orphanage in general.
He was so happy he could finally experiment happiness even if he knew it was a lie, a mere dream; but within that, he eventually accepted the crude reality and allowed himself to rest and become a demon out of the suffering he carried within his heart.
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 93
And eventually, he started to manifest in the real world, and within this, his appearance finally came to view:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 95
Within this, the first insight of him as a newborn demon was the fact that his eyes were blue instead of the common red; for the meantime, such state is related to the fact that he hasn’t feed on human desires; which would be a likeable resemblance to how he was when he became a half vampire; he kept his blue eyes until he drank human blood for the first time.
But returning to the theory itself, let’s dwell in the new powers the demon Mikaela has adquired:
1. Detection and cross shaped attacks
One of the things this chapter displayed is the fact that the demon Mikaela is capable of sensing lurking enemies that are trying to pass unseen, which is something it was visible with Kiseki-O; since he tried to tresspass Mikaela’s bubble dream without permission, he ended up getting attacked by a curious cross shaped like power:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
Detection and cross shaped power like attack? I’d like some help with names!
Despite being a new demon, he’s capable of causing damage to those who he considers enemies; within this, it comes the curious fact about his cross shaped attacks or manifestation abilities; but why are they curious?
If many might recall, Rigr Stafford didn’t want the First to get Yu with the Code Name of Sun God Aten which for christianity is often related to the archangel Michael; along the issue that Asuramaru was called by the Hyakuya Sect as the Sword of Michael
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 79
Yu was called Sun God Aten by Rigr Stafford
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 85
Hyakuya Sect soldier called Asuramaru Michael’s Sword
But what does this have to do with Mikaela’s new powers?
Correct. This has to do with a special goal Guren seeked by taking down the plans of Rigr Stafford which was to bring forward something relatable or alike to the archangel Michael; and this is heavily hinted when Noya pointed out that Guren had the three subjects he required for his main goal:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 86
Noya mentioned something related to Guren’s wish; and so far, that wish is related to the restoration of the World itself, but for that, it is related to destroying the First with a Triump Card.
Therefore, what does Mikaela’s power have to do with this?
As interesting it might be, it is often related or linked that demons are seen with an inverted cross, but, ironically, Mikaela’s powers showed a normal cross which gives an insight of Guren’s plan to finally crush the First; and that is to bring Yu, Ashera and Mika as one sole being. (Said topic can be found in a theory within the theory list pinned)
But we digress, therefore, let’s return to the main topic at hand.
2. Energy absorb and realm crossing
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
After Mikaela tracked down the invaders, he sent a direct attack to Kiseki-O; managing to absorb some of his power after unleashing said attack; within this it is to be noticed that his attack can reach and cross realms, but, what exactly cross realms mean?
Mikaela is within his own world, a world on which he can see a happy family living together; while the other 3 black demons are kept in a sole dimension place; but wihtin this, after Mika detected their presence, he didn’t need to cross down such realm to release a powerful attack to Kiseki-O and of course, he was able to absorb down some of his power to feed on.
3. Strong resistance to ranged attacks.
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
Another thing to notice is the fact that he was able to grab all the arrows Gekkouin launched towards him; he was able to grab them despite the fact that Gekkouin can borrow as much greed as he can from Yoichi to gain strength.
Along the fact that, the demon Mikaela hasn’t fed on a human; which only means that once he starts feeding, he’ll increase his powers to unknown ranges.
What other powers might Mika display?
That’s unknown for now, but it is quite possible that he’ll develop abilities like other demons from the black series; as for manifestation abilities, I’d like to know what you guys think about

OnS Theories (18S). First Theory - Kiseki-O’s abilities. A new insight to the latent power of demons
Hello everyone, I hope you’ve been doing well, remember to stay safe and healthy!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded
Thanks to the latest chapters, we had an insight of the abilities of Kiseki-O; therefore, let’s proceed to talk about it1
If many might recall, Kiseki-O is a black demon that made a contract with Shiho Kimizuki:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 21
And of course, it took such a long time to see how exactly goes between Shiho and Kiseki-O:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 95
Compared to Ashera, Kiseki-O is more patient in terms of possessing and that’s due to the fact that Shiho has been a rational being compared to Yu who dwells within emotion and passion; but within this, what are the abilities of Kiseki-O?
If one must recall, Kiseki-O has the abilities of summoning infinite coffins and of course, such thing depends a lot on the bond between him and his wielder, which was something Kiseki-O seeked for a long time, but, how can I state this?
Easy, in chapter 95, Kiseki-O finally managed to dive into Kimizuki’s heart and instead of possessing him, he gave him power which at the end, gave power to Kiseki-O himself.
But for now, let’s focus on his abilities.
1. Coffin summoning
At first glance, this ability seems like one that would allow to devour anything inside it which was visible in old chapters, but, if the demon itself uses such power inside the heart of the wielder; such ability allows the demon to summon endless coffins that work as doors:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
2. Neutralizing demonic possessions
This was heavily seen within old chapters after Yu allowed Asuramaru to possess him first; and of course, the one who came to his rescue was Shiho Kimizuki, ordering Kiseki-O to trap him:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 34
Kiseki-O was able to knock down the demon that was possessing Yu in order to return him to his human state again; which is something only Kiseki-O was able to do at that time.
3. Close combat
Unlike Gekkouin, Byakkomaru or Shikama Doji that rely on distance to attack and of course, discarting that the First is the most powerful creature within the series, Kiseki-O has enough power to face down enemies in close combat but, would have he been able to face down the demon Mikaela?
The answer to this is no. And you might wonder why, the reason is actually more simple, Kiseki-O relies on stance and more paced attacks
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 21
It can be said that Kiseki-O’s combat style is more focused on slower attacks due to the fact he wields dual swords along the fact that his personality has been displayed as a demon that doesn’t try it too hard unless he sees a golden opportunity
4. Coffin portal
With the latest chapter, one of the things that we weren’t able to know was the fact that asides from opening doors to the demon Mikaela’s world, Kiseki-O is in fact able to use his coffins as portals to teleport those who require it to specifc points even if it’s on unknown places:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 100
Kiseki-O was able to summon a coffin and display an image of where exactly Ashera wanted to go, giving actually an insight of what Kiseki-O is really able to do with such coffins:
Tracking demon desires
In chapter 100, Kiseki-O, Gekkouin and Asuramaru enganged in a battle against Mikaela; but, the one who carried out the mission to fight him on close combat was Asuramaru; while Kiseki-O was focused on tracking the most important desire the demon Mikaela held dear, and of course that leads to the kids reflected as Yu and Mika from such dream world.
But how was he able to track it down?
Easy. The demon Mikaela is a newborn demon, he has no combat real combat experience against experienced demons, specially against 3.
This made such an easy task for him to point down the exact location on which what the demon Mikaela held dear, along the fact that demons in general, have the latent power of tracking down sources of desires since they can pretty much but the question still remains, how was it possible for him if he was in a world unknown to him?
This is due to the fact that before ambushing the demon Mikaela, Kiseki-O took an insight of Mikaela’s world as well, he saw what exactly the King was aiming to protect and what kept him absorbed:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
In order to watch the demon, he summoned coffins before hand in order to see what exactly the King treasured, hence why he only needed to open enough coffins to pin down the location of the source the King treasured.
This only gives an insight that the demons that have appeared so far, have yet to display further abilities within the manga story; in fact, it is to said that their abilities do no longer rely on the basic characteristics of what makes them demon but rather, how exactly they manipulate their abilities to have a better insight of what they’re facing and how to beat them as well.
What do you think dear readers? What other abilities shone within the chapter?
Let me know!

OnS Theories (18S). Second Theory - Reason to Mikaela’s limited strength
Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well, make sure to stay hydrated and healthy!
The theory of today will be focused on something the fandom has noticed around and it is the fact that very asides that Mika became a powerful vampire, he wasn’t able to face down completely 3 black demons, therefore, let’s proceed!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded
With the release of the latest chapter, most of the fandom weren’t expecting an interesting battle between Mikaela and Asuramaru along the tag or teamwork of Kiseki-O and Gekkouin; furthermore, there was expectance to see Mika as the most powerful being, but then, why did he lose since he’s labeled as the “King”?
Before proceeding to explain, let’s talk about some aspects of what made Mika the most powerful demon on Earth:
First of all, compared to other demons, Mikaela’s biggest source of desire wasn’t power nor greed, but rather “love”; his source of this desire came to the whole Hyakuya Orphanage, he treasured them and loved them, he saw them as his unique family
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 93
But of course, before he became a demon, he was aware he was in a perfect dream world, in a world on which Yu never threw his humanity, in a world on which demons, vampires, experiments nor cursed gears existed; only peace and his treasured ones, and of course, this lead eventually to his transformation and manifestation as a demon in the real world. This lead to the eventual birth of the most powerful demon to be ever created and that is due to the fact of his main source of desires that made him become one on the first place. We even saw many of his abilities in chapter 98.
P.S: If you wish to, you can read this theory focused on his abilities, of course there will be a part 2!
OnS Theories (16S). Third Theory - Demon Mikaela’s powers and abilities
But there was something to notice with the demon Mikaela, what could it be?
Correct. The color of his eyes were blue:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 95
At first thought, my mind suggested that it could be by the fact that he hasn’t fed on human desires, but now, this thought or idea that originally came might be divided in two options:
Desires
Just like when he was a newborn vampire, his eyes didn’t dye in red but instead, they were blue giving a sign that he was still half human, half vampire until he later consumed human blood.
Soul
One of the characteristics that sets aside other demons from Mikaela is the fact that him being a demon, doesn’t imply he’s merciless, but rather, he harbors and cherishes what his soul longed even if he no longer recalls who he was or what he was and that’s highly visible in chapter 100.
It could be possible that, when a demon retains it’s soul or rather, the soul is not sealed or caught under the control of the First Progenitor like Ashera, Noya, Gekkouin, Byakkomaru, Raimeki and Kiseki-O, the demon might actually harbor elements of what it was once.
This will be further explained in another theory...
Retaking the theory, now the question is, why is the demon Mikaela not strong enough to defeat 3 black demons?
The answer to this is actually quite easy. What do I mean?
Correct. The demon Mikaela hasn’t fed on human desires. But how does this play in the role of strenght?
If you dear readers recall, all demons feed on human desires; but, have you wondered why?
This is due to the fact, humans harbor willpower, desires, greed, need, love, freedom, and most of all, a reason to live and exist.
Such strong emotions lead to a powerful cataclyst that boosts demons alone in order to prevail and exist along giving them power to fight. And this is heavily pointed back in chapter 98:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
Gekkouin in said panel asked Yoichi for power to enhance his power since they were aware they’d face a powerful newborn demon, but the question prevails, why did Mikaela lose against those 3?
As painful as it might sound, Mikaela is indeed a newborn demon; he might have knowledge on how to use his abilities for combat but, there’s an issue and that is the fact that he relies on his power alone, he doesn’t focus on tactics which is heavily reflected back in old chapters when he was a vampire:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 77
Back in chapter 77 Guren pointed that he was “alone” since he didn’t carry out a plan nor had teammates to help him out, he was literally going in a solo mission, and of course, this is highlighted by @distinguished-slacker , the 3 black demons worked up as a team in order to defeat him and carry out their mission, of course, the outcome hasn’t been displayed, it was left in a cliffhanger but nevertheless, the demon Mikaela doesn’t have combat experience against 3 black demons, it could be said he was careless in terms of checking the abilities of the other demons, hence why despite the abrupt raw power he has, he still lost in terms of tactics and teamwork.
Of course, the fact this was his first battle, doesn’t mean his path will follow doom but rather, something unexpected will happen for sure, but that’ll be mentioned in another theory.
What do you think dear readers?
Let me know what you think!
OnS Theories (17S). Twelfth Theory - Mikaela’s Samsara and Demon Mikaela (Sad Theory)
Hello everyone, it’s been a little while since I updated a theory; I hope you’ve been doing well, remember to stay healthy and safe!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral point of view and ships are excluded
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjAMmdl5_CQ
A samsara is commonly known as an endless cycle of birth and death, rebirth and death, and you might wonder, how does this apply with Mikaela.
For this, we must take in consideration certain factor, what do I mean?
Back when Mikaela Hyakuya was conscious he was living the best dream and realized he couldn’t keep going because it was too perfect:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 93
Mikaela expressed all the pain within his heart, he recalled all the things that happened before he reached the perfect dream he longed for deep within his heart; this gave him an option which was to make the dream his reality, what do I mean?
If Mika wanted to keep living in a dream, he could become a demon that would feed on human desires, of course, this lead him to say he was tired and he’s right, he was tired from carrying all that suffering over his shoulders, which is why this would lead him to accept the offer of becoming a demon:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 94
But then, how can I state Mikaela is in a samsara if he’s living a peaceful life?
The reason to this is because the demon Mikaela is, like a casted shadow of what it’s left of him; what do I mean?
If many might recall, the demon Mikaela tends to gaze at the dream in a warm way, admiring the beauty it holds, but, the reason why I state Mikaela is trapped within a samsara is because despite him lacking memories, the Mika reflected in the dream happily in such world has no consciousness:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
What do I mean by saying that the happy Mika has no consciousness?
If you might recall, when he first awoke on such place, he had recollections of everything, the vampires, the cursed gears, Yu’s family, his main purpose to fight and live; furthermore, he acknowledged that he couldn’t do that at the end since he died in order to protect Yu from any more danger.
But, after Mika accepted on becoming a demon, we can spot a happy Mika living a normal life in a fantasy world, in a samsara that might seem like heaven for the Mika living everyday with Yu and the orphans but, said Mika has no recollection of what happened in the past nor the present.
This outcome leads to the demon Mikaela, but why?
The demon Mikaela is the one living said samsara, and this is due to the fact that in order for his soul to cherish a happy and everlasting dream, he had to trade away his memories and suffering in order to keep such dream existing, but the fact the dream is an endless one, it only implies that the demon persona will be tormented with something that he himself will never achieve.
The demon Mikaela is aware of the existance of vampires, humans and demons along the contracts between human and demon in order to preserve his existance:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 95
The fact that Mikaela can gaze up at his happy self without remembering who he was, or what he did before, nor recollect who their important persons were to him, it’s something that’ll make him walk through a path of sustaining and living a samsara without end.
Within this, there might be a curiousity as to how exactly his soul work. The answer to this relies exactly on what it’s reflected within Mikaela as a whole.
The dream the demon Mikaela is keeping up is the soul itself attached to him; he can see what his soul treasured and loved the most without recalling if he was part of such or not. And the only way for him to eventually recall who he was is to actually return with Yu once again.
What do you think guys?
I’m aware this is quite the wierd theory but it is focused on explaining how Mikaela’s soul is working and how exactly and why the demon has no memories about himself.
Do you think this samsara Mikaela is currently living should prevail or should shatter in order to remember once again his mission? Do you consider that Shikama will save him or not?
Let me know!
