When I was born, my Mom sent me to Ghana so she can truly prepare for a better life for my early arrival. I returned at 2 years old speaking absolutely no English and no knowledge of who she was. I cried for my grandmother and she cried because her son didn't know her. With my grandma still in Ghana, small pay checks and no help at home to watch me, her therapy was songwriting. That became her means of teaching me how to speak English and sharing the gift of music with me. I remember the first rhythm she taught me was an upbeat triplet. I would tap the pen on the pad in a small 2 bedroom apartment in Las Vegas for her as she recorded her songs to a Panasonic tape recorder. My mother was the first artist I produced for. Till this day I use that triplet in nearly all of my productions. I don't have all the words to explain all of the struggles she went through to make sure I had all I need from my first keyboard from Costco to the laptop I created my first project on. I am forever grateful. Mom, Happy Birthday! You are the most beautiful woman in the world. I devote my whole being to using the tools you gave me to build the Kingdom of the Lord. I will honor your request to finish school for the sake of your sacrifice to make a better life for me. You've brought me to this world with love and strength and filled me with inspiration, covered me with spiritual protection and push me to be the best me. It is my will that you retire early and we build a future back home in our country. You have been through so much and made it through stronger than ever. I am proud to be your only son. I pray that God blesses you with more years and he blesses us with more time to spend together. I love you and can't wait to go back to Vegas with you!
