Ah, the day we’ve all been waiting for, whether that be with dread or anticipation. A new year, the transition from 2021 to 2022. In celebration of this international event, @lizziesxltzmxn and @randomestfandoms-ocs have come up with another challenge! Starting the 26th and ending New Years Day, this challenge is all about celebrating growth and change.

Challenges below the cut!
1. Please Don’t Ever Become A Stranger (26th)
Don’t let your friendships die of thirst! For this challenge, make something for a friend you made this year to show some appreciation and hopefully set a precedent for a friendship that continues into the new year.
2. I Bet You Think About Me (27th)
Got a new oc to introduce? Or a less new one you’ve been putting off for a while? Well, this is your sign! This challenge is all about showing off new ocs.
3. I Can Change Everything About Me To Fit In (28th)
Trends change, and so do people. The new year is always associated with change, so make something for your most changed oc! I know they say not to fuck with the original, but this isn’t a sequel, it’s a revision!
4. Cleaning Up Bottles With You (29th)
Friends come in all forms, and in character creation, they can even come from different universes. So instead of welcoming the new year with a bottle of champagne, give a toast to an oc challenge classic: a beloved crossover.
5. Right Where You Left Me (30th)
Sometimes you have to give up on the things you love. However, that doesn’t mean you have to stop missing them, or that you can’t come back later in a better place. The challenge is this: take one of your old, neglected, even abandoned ocs and reinvent them. Can you make your oc come back stronger than a 90s trend?
6. I’m Setting Off But Not Without My Muse (31st)
New year, new you! But reminiscing on the past isn’t always a bad thing. The things you did in 2021 are just as valid as the things you may do in the new year. Especially your creation! For day six, create something for an oc you made in 2021.
7. Can I Go Where You Go? (1st)
New Year’s is all about resolutions, deciding your goals for the year and trying to stick to them — even if only for a day. Get a head start on your tumblr resolutions by making an edit for the oc you’re most excited to work on this year. And don’t worry, we won’t judge if you move on to a new muse by tomorrow.

Featuring Miryé Valerius, my abandoned OG Star Wars OC.
Poor Miryé. She was my second OC to be published (it’s still at myprofile as Dying for You), but her story stagnated when my first laptop burned out around 2015. She was Kieran Tano then, a girl who’d escaped from Naboo and was found by Bail Organa, who noticed her uncaniness to his daughter, Princess Leia. She became her handmaiden, and was basically just her decoy/bodyguard for the entire trilogy. She was also the unknown daughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Sabé, Padmé Amidala’s handmaiden.
Her first faceclaim was Sarah Michelle Gellar; her second, Crystal Reed; her third, Elizabeth Olsen; her fourth was Danielle Panabaker; and lastly, her current faceclaim is Ivana Baquero.
As for the revamp of the story, it’s a mixture of Star Wars Legends lore and what’s currently canon. It kind of goes like this:
Miryé Valerius has hid in the shadows for many years. She’d escaped several hells hoping against hope that the universe would kill her. But she endured, and her skills were noticed by the Royal House of Organa.
With a second chance at life, she fervently wishes to redeem herself as one Princess Leia Organa’s protectors. But her past comes knocking alongside Luke Skywalker, whose abilities in the Force have drawn the attention from foes and allies of her past. Most importantly, the sister she’d thought she murdered returns... Mara Jade, the Emperor’s Hand.
