This is bloody important. If anyone has acted, or continues to act, unkindly to anyone on this website please just stop with it.
There is literally no reason to be mean to anybody. No one deserves unkindness or disrespect. Everyone on this site has their own story, their own experiences and lives and things no one knows about them. We’re all at different stages in writing, and are from all over the planet and that’s pretty rad! I mean instead of getting at each other for mistakes we have the chance to learn new things about each other, we have the opportunity to make friends with people who aren’t even on the same content as us, just a while ago that would have taken signing up for a pen pal type of program or traveling,isn’t that at least a little bit epic?
Every writer has grown, and everyone is at a different place with it, that just means they are growing, like everyone is. And that’s amazing! we can grow together!
Every character is different, because everyone has a different past and they see different things in that character. One person might catch one thing, someone else might just catch something very different, and when they present these characters we get to know those characters even better.
As an OC blog I may not be best to speak on this but even OC’s are a bit like that, but then there is a direct link to that person, and a spark of creativity. and after all, all cannon characters were OC’s in the beginning. So why kill that spark of creativity? Even if the character is a “mary sue” that was made by someone who is younger than other folks on here, it’s a start. Who knows, the creator of it might just go on to do something great, like make characters for a movie, or a game. But nobody does anything if they are stunted.
There is nothing to gain from being mean, but there's a lot to see and learn and experience and a lot of friends to make from being kind. Just be encouraging to each other. this world is too full of things to be amazed at to be mean to each other, I mean seriously, we can teleport electrons, best friends from other continents are a few clicks away from communication, cats exist in all their fluffy, confuzzing glory, there’s so much to be excited about and so many reasons to be kind.
