how do you make your icons circular, love? thank you if you reply. x

i hope you don’t mind my posting this, honeybun ! bear in mind that my way is a wee bit tedious & i’m sure there are much more easier ways to go about making them but nonetheless, here’s what i do ( this is all done on photoshop cs5 ! ) ——- 

okay so first off all you just make your icon like usual — sharpen, colour, resize; whatever you fancy. 

so you’ve got your brand spanking icon #fresh2death & ready to go, next you make a new canvas ;

and then you click & drag your icon so it’s on top of that canvas & you have two layers as such ——- 

then you go & click ur marquee tool ( hold down so you can choose the circular option ! ) 

you should see this once you’ve changed it ! fix the ratio to 1x1 and then fit it over your icon. make sure it fits exactly inside the icon, otherwise you’ll get straight edges & it won’t be very round.

then you click this button here ( add layer mask ) which you can find in the bottom righthand corner. 

and then what you’re left with is this 

still not very round, so click on the background layer, switch over to the eraser tool & rub it all out. if you haven’t merged the layers then the icon itself will be unharmed. once that’s done, make sure you merge visible. it’s super important you do that otherwise the white will pop back up rather than remain transparent. 

then you can just save it there you go ——- a cute lil circle icon

i don’t think there’s another character i could see myself confidently writing other than miss clara oswald. she’s basically one of the only characters to have come through that show that i’ve really connected with & enjoyed, i dread her final episode, i don’t know what i’m going to do without her. that being said i would like to try my hand at danny pink —– i miss that lil goober so much, don’t get me started. or maybe ( though this isn’t quite doctor who per se ) gwen cooper, she means the absolute world to me.

teen wolf fandom!

wELL, i kind of gave lydia martin a go for a little while, she’s the first character i fell in love with & even know she’s one of the only reasons i’m still sticking around to continue watching. my muse was always a bit on the finicky side with her, however, so her account didn’t last very long. i gave malia tate a run for her money, too ! there’s so many fascinating aspects to her, although i really did wish that we saw more of the malia that was in eichen house —– it was such a fleeting glimpse but that was the kind of characterisation that i wanted to see in her, if that makes sense? i’d love to take a stab ( geddit? i hate myself ) at allison argent, if i ever get the chance, just her ‘i want to feel stronger than that, i want to feel powerful’ line just fuckS ME UP. i miss her so much, come back to me ally a.

The Walking Dead?

this show owns me, my god. i’ve already portrayed a number of characters actually ( andrea harrison / phillip blake / beth greene / tara chambler / lizzie samuels  ) & if i had the time i would definitely bring all of them back, they’re all so individually fascinating personality wise. if i had to narrow it down though, i would love to bring back andrea. i’m unbelievably bitter about her death, i refuse to believe that someone as skilled as her could’ve been taken down that easily ( she fought off three walkers with her upper body pinned down & you’re telling me she couldn’t kill one with her arm free? bullshit ) phillip blake/the governor was so much fun as well ! he was the first villain i wrote but there were so many aspects & layers to him, he’s definitely someone you need to devote a lot of time to however. i wouldn’t mind making a jessie anderson either, as someone who’s been in her position, some of the hate she gets makes me want to punch a brick. she’s so tough & brave & she’s doing the best she can i cry.

definitely not clarke griffin. in all seriousness though, she absolutely owns my soul, as a bisexual it’s so important to me to have a character like her on my screen every week. her development is just absolutely heartbreaking, to go from the nurturer to this ‘there are no good guys’ / morally grey type leader. she’s just a seventeen year old girl with all these lives on her shoulders & it’s tearing her up. can i still call a character who’s committed genocide twice my tiny child ? because i will. i’d love to take bellamy blake for a spin as well —— his character arc & development throughout the seasons never fails to make me emotional, he’s growN SO MUCH. but idk, after i met bob it’d be a bit weird for me /??? commander lexa would be a really fascinating character to develop as well, but i don’t think i could really be confident in my portrayal of her.

true blood, hp, divergent.

squ EA KS, i actually haven’t seen true blood ! well i watched the first season but that was ages ago, from what i’ve seen though i would probably have made a jessica hamby if i ever get around to rewatching the series, i remember enjoying her when she first showed up because my reaction would be pretty similiar if i were ever turned into a vampire. 

as for the harry potter series i would love love love to make a victoire weasley or a dorcas meadowes, at least in the independent community —— i’ve played them both a bunch in group rps.

 & in divergent, i had considered making a tobias eaton, he was so fascinating in the books i’m so mad about how much they changed his characterisation in the films, it was just all wrong, insurgent was just —– yikes. either him or christina.

i’ve had quite a few marvel characters over my time on tumblr —— i dabbled in peggy carter & jane foster for a little while. if i had the time i would definitely bring peggy back, she’s just so incredible & so much fun to write. there’s my steve rogers account which i should definitely log back onto at some point. otherwise i wouldn’t making a wanda maximoff —- she absolutely owned me in age of ultron, such a scene stealer. or gwen stacy ( because she is definitely 100% still alive )

kirby reed !! four years later & i’m still in denial about her death, absolutely did not happen, not even slightly. she was such an interesting character to me & the first protagonist in the scream franchise that i was really invested in after sidney & randy meeks.
