The transporter still wasn't working properly. That's what gave her her in.

Tayen appeared in the transporter in a bright flash of light. She'd been trying to help invade a planet, using their own transporter, but... this was off. This wasn't the universe she knew.
Or, at least, she wasn't the Tayen this universe knew.
Tayen slowly stepped out of the transporter, reaching for her phaser. She looked around at the ship. The room was empty. It looked exactly like the one from her ship. But it was off. She couldn't place why.
She made her way to the door, carefully peeking out. People passed by in the corridor, not paying her any mind. Then she caught a glimpse of a poster, and her mind connected the dots.
This wasn't her universe.
This what the universe she'd heard whispers of. Where people were good. She was good. There was no Terran Empire. The "Federation" was in its place.
Tayen shuddered. She hated to think about that. But... She needed to find a way to gather intel.
And the best way to do that, was to steal the identity of her counterpart.
They really should have fixed their transporter.
Solo: Another Year
Tayen sighed as she entered her dorm. She tossed her bag onto a chair and laid down on her bed.
Another year, where she was alone again. On Valentine's, of all days. She hated being alone...
Her eyes wandered over her desk, where the gifts she'd gotten for Eva, James, and Drew all sat. Did she really have the energy to give them to them? Did she want to face all the couples rubbing it in her face that she was still alone? That nobody could ever love her?
And that all of it was her own fault?
No.. no, she would wait. Wait until the day after Valentine's, when all the people in relationships were doing different things.
They wouldn't mind getting their presents a day late... right?
