Someone looked stressed out. Shinjiro in particular. Mitsuru placed a cup of chamomile tea in front of him without much of a word. "Drink it. It'll help you relax and hopefully sleep well tonight." No need to thank her. She's doing it on her own volition.
@fatexbound
--- The sudden smell of warm chamomile hit his senses, his head perking up from it's slumped position in front of the table. Sitting up, his eyes naturally focused on where Mitsuru was. The lobby was quite, save for the ticking of the clock and her gentle tone. Aragaki observed her for a few minutes before he settled back against the sofa, taking the mug from the table and holding it up to his lips.
He didn't say anything, at first. The hot tea seemed to relieve a majority of his concerns; his shoulders slowly loosening up.
Once he was satiated for the moment, he set the warm mug against his knee.
"You don't gotta do this for me." He sighed out, his eyes staring off past the carpet. "Still, thanks." It wasn't very often Mitsuru made him a cup of chamomile. More so it meant she knew he wasn't in the best mood.
"...You should rest your feet. You've been on them all day." Shinjiro patted the cushion next to him, offering her to sit. "If you're gonna be here, the least you can be is comfortable."
ooc: Sup I've been WAYYY too busy my bad
--- His consciousness awakens in another area yet again. The ciry was bustling with life. Noisy, fast paced, but familiar. Glancing around, the ghost is used to these blips of awakenings by now. Depending where he was awake, it always meant one of the phantom thieves were nearby. He was strangely tethered to them, no matter how small the bond, or lack there of. So who it was this time escaped him as he floated about, looking through the waves of people.
"Hm?" Eyes blinked at the sight of an unmistakable ghostly figure wandering around. Shinjuku was one of his favorite places to visit aside from Akihabara and Kichijoji. It was always bustling with activity, especially now at nighttime. "Oh, it's you again." A common occurrence that didn't surprise him now.
"I'm on my way to watch a movie at the movie theater... you want to join me?" He only hoped he wouldn't ruin the experience.
--- "...Of course it's you." He let out a sigh, feeling his face. He was blunt about it, but he was more exhasperated of the location than anything else.
"...Is it something interesting, atleast?" The spectre questioned, already floating behind Akira.
@letsriddlemethislucifer continued from here.
Ryuji wasn't surprised to see Akechi also at this place - his friend had mentioned playing some darts with him before.
Admittedly, there was some part of him that still felt awkward around Akechi - didn't quite know how to approach him, if he even could. But...his friend wasn't here right now and he'd come all this way. He refused to waste that time and effort just standing around doing nothing.
"Sure, why not...?" He barks out his reply, a confidence in his voice that he doesn't quite feel but even so, he pushes on. "I wouldn't ask you to, anyway."
--- How peculiar. Yet refreshing, if he was to be honest.
With a soft exhale, he let his shoulders settle. He gestured ahead before he made his way to their designated board. Looking to where the tray of darts was, Akechi gathered a few for himself before holding out a set for the other.
"Your name is Ryuji, correct? I don't believe we've actually gotten acquainted properly. Do you play darts frequently?" Goro inquired, wanting to keep the conversation going. "I admit I only play when my schedule isn't so hectic."
ooc: So, uh, today is going to be pretty busy. I will try to get to threads and asks when I can.
Gale chuckled softly, covering his mouth. " Odd is one way to say it, you would've tasted slightly flavoured water. " Even if it would've been funny.
@derriereunemasque / @ofstarsxsins
Hearing the soft chuckle made his eyes widen. It was a nice sound, something he hadn't heard fill this house in a while. It felt like the room was warmer from it, a brief comfort.
"...hm!" He stifled another hum, one hinting at a brighter mood. "The soup should come out great, then." He murmured, watching the pot boil. "This goes well for cold nights like this one."
The right people... perhaps anything is more bearable or considered enjoyable when sharing with someone. Gale just never had that sensation.
He watched Ren look around, and would check on his cooking. The scent was... plain. " You're missing seasoning. "
@derriereunemasque
☆ --- Seasoning? But... He blinked once. Twice, before glancing around the counter space. A soft gasp escaped him once he realized what was missing. "The miso paste!" He exclaimed, walking to the fridge to check if he had left it there. There were a few clatters and clanks before he reappeared, holding the container.
"I can't believe I forgot that. Thanks." He quickly added it in with the seaweed. "That could have tasted pretty odd." He chuckled.

Gale stayed next to Ren, watching him use the now sharpened knife. It certainly cut nicer now, even if the other was going slow it certainly looks like it helps.
Though he didn't answer straight away when he was asked more. Talking about his past... he hardly even tried to recall it. He had to abandon his human self, just to not lose himself to madness. It felt like... someone else entirely...
" Cooking was just housework. I did it because I had to. "
He understands that Ren was just trying to make conversation and not asking with any malice. It honestly felt like this human couldnt even be malicious if he tried. Someone who was too worried about cutting himself with a sharp cooking knife really seemed... too soft. Perhaps one of the biggest reasons he did let him survive their first meeting. And worried today about how late it was.
@derriereunemasque
"I guess it is just housework..." He let out a soft huff, not out of humor, but to release some of the nervous energy. He continued to cut up the onions until they were diced. With that, he set the knife down and picked up the cutting board.
"But, with the right people, it can be effortless and kind of comforting," he explained, carrying the board of tofu and onions to the stove. He set it to the side and checked on the stock. When he knew it was ready, he poured the vegetables and tofu in and set the heat up.
He paused as he glanced toward the rehydrated seaweed. "...stock, tofu, onions, seaweed...was there something else...?" He murmured, wracking his brain as he looked around.
Gale stopped in his movement for a moment, tensing up. Staring at the knife in silence. Does he cook... He gripped the knife, and started to continue sharpening it. For a while the only sound would be the blade being sharpened.
" ... I wasn't born a vampire. "
The knife looked much better now, and he would test the edge with his finger before rinsing it and moving back towards Ren. Putting the knife down next to the cutting board.
" I have no need to cook anymore. But it's a skill I haven't forgotten. "
@derriereunemasque
His own stomach churned in guilt. He hadn't meant for the question to come off as offensive. Looking down at the knife, he carefully picked it up and looked at the sheen in the metal. It did look pretty sharp, now...
With a nervous hum, he curled one hand into a fist on the green onions and positioned the knife with the others. "..Did you like to cook..?" He asked in a a quieter voice. He hoped it wouldn't make the other upset.
The soft crunch of the onions, cut finely, could be heard; his movements were still quite slow. "I don't mean to cause you trouble. I am sorry if I do," he added.
" Knife sharpener... " Gale would go towards the cupboard Ren pointed, looking through it. He would find something and take it out, inspecting it as if to assess if it's even going to help. After going to the sink to rinse the knife, he carefully started to sharpen the blade. Trying to not use too much force. " Might take a bit. "
@derriereunemasque
Ren listened to the rhythmic "shhhhrk shrk shrk" of the knife against the sharpener. Out of curiosity, he couldn't help but watch Gale work, noting the posture and practiced movements.
"...do you cook, by any chance?" he asked, interested in the other's experience. "You seem very at home with all this."
Gale tilted his head. So he kept cutting his fingers at a faster pace? The Vampire sighed softly, and reached around Ren. Hands gently taking his, adjusting how he held the vegetable. " Try learning to hold it like this, keep your hand in a fist... keeps your fingers safe. "
And he took away the knife, looking then at the other knifes Ren had. " ... and use a sharper knife. You'll be less likely to slip if the blade actually cuts. " He inspected the blades, though... they all were in a similar state it seemed. Did people not have actual knifes anymore? Or was it just this person because he is scared of cutting himself while cooking? So counterproductive...
@derriereunemasque
"Nh-?" He blinked as the knife was taken away. Ah no, he couldn't practice what Gale was teaching him. He was watchful, noting the way Gale was holding the utensil.
"O-oh, um, sharper...I think I have a knife sharpener somewhere...?" He murmured, but kept his hands planted where Gale had positioned them, his grip on the green onions careful. "I know they should be sharp...but..." He glanced down at his fingers. They were very faded by now, but his fingers still remembered the cuts he kept getting from such sharp objects. "..anyway, I think the sharpener is.." Ren turned his head left and right before he pointed at the nearest cupboard, next to the fridge. "There, I think."
Gale would silently observe Ren for a good while, watching how slow and careful he was cutting the veggies, probably to avoid any cuts... Slowly did the vampire approach. Not alerting the human until he was right behind him.
" Your technique is kind of messy. "
@derriereunemasque
"!" Ren paused in his chopping, his head turning to look back at Gale. He stared in surprise before letting out a soft laugh. "Well, if I went any faster...I would be a hazard." He hummed lightly, pointing at himself. "I um...I'm actually really clumsy in the kitchen at a normal pace. I used to have a lot of bandaids on my fingers."
