Ruthie was so surprised when she felt those arms wrap around her in a hug as she couldn’t help but just stand there for a few moments. Ever since she passed away, no one was able to hug her or even touch her. Since she was just a star spirit now, no one was ever able to lay a hand or paw on her cause it would just go through her, as if she’s existent.
How could she hug her? Did she believe in star spirits enough and so much that she can hug her? Was it truly possible….. to hug someone again?
Starry like tears started to form and fall down her cheeks as she couldn’t help it. She’d never had a hug from anyone in days, weeks, even years. Starting to remember what it was like to hug someone, Ruthie never thought of missing it so much. Seeing the flood of memories coming back, more tears kept coming and falling as she hugs her back.
All the hugs, cuddles, and pets she’d recieve and even give to those she loves and around her. Then remembering those who were scared of touching a creature like her until they felt her fur then they couldn’t stop feeling how soft her fur was as if it was the only comfort they needed. Ruthie always smiled and nods to show that she’s happy to have help others feel comfortable around her. She’d always come back whenever to comfort them again since situations they were in were usually very stressful so she was there to make it better. That’s all she’d wanted to do in life was to help others feel comfortable, to see them smile when situations are rough. It was a purpose and a goal of helping others feel better.
Seeing those memories fade, she hugs her back as she whines into her shirt for comfort and to hide herself. Ruthie was wanting to apologize for crying but she couldn’t speak, nothing could come out of her sobbing and hiccuping. It felt so nice and comfortable to be able to hug someone again without going through them. She always doubted that she could hug someone again.
Who’d knew that this was ever possible, to be able to hug a starry spirit like her?
She tried to calm down her sobs as she was able to carefully wrap her arms around her to hug her back. She hiccups a bit as more tears fell down her face, being able to speak a couple words before sobbing more.
“T-th… t-thank ya~…”
