My first post since like tearing up half my work and starting from scratch so here we go!

OLD
“This is the baptismal font,” Neptune turns on her heel, her hand thrown out like a ringmaster greeting circus patrons. “This is where we lucky few come to get drowned, kicking and screaming, at the ripe old age of 12.”
NEW
“But how did you know, then? How did it stay? How can you be this angry with me and still say that you love me? How is that any fairer? What do I do with that?” Neptune flinches first, the sudden onslaught of emotion unnerving her. It unnerves him too. His voice trembles outside of his control, fingers twitching into a shake. Somewhere in his gullet, his heartbeat throbs an irregular rhythm. It’s new to him too, to be afraid.
LOST
Ari leans back to catch his breath. The thud of his heart traversed from his chest, choking his throat and pulsing on his tongue. He could still taste Edward’s mouth. Mint and fruit and a hint of whiskey that must have been stolen from his own drawer. The weight on his lap shifts, forcing heavy eyes to look up at the spectacle of Edward’s desire - like hot liquor on an open wound. The uncertain yearning gave him a certain quality, like someone lost awaiting being found.
FOUND
The dining table looks larger with Alicia sat alone at it. She's accompanied by a stack of papers, one held in her hands and attention. “You’ll never guess what I found,” she starts, lifting her gaze, her face full of immediate shock “…heavens above, you look like you’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards!" He pulls a knot through his fingers and winces, the illusion that he'd tamed his hair dissolved.
