Let’s Go Lokal!

Robinsons Department Store launched the first ever Go Lokal! store in Robinsons Place Manila last Friday.

Robinsons Department Store partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to provide a marketplace for the creations of innovative Philippine micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

This new market access platform via a design-led concept store is set to revolutionize the way hard-to-find and artisanal Filipino products are sold in the local market, and will bring together a specially-curated line-up that ranges from food, apparel, accessories, home décor, gadgets and gift items.

I am lucky to become part of this event because I am a fan of local and 100% Filipino-made products. This reminds me how we supported MSMEs back in our Marketing Management class through the marketing plan we contributed for local makers of premium instant salabat (Ginger Brew). Through this kind of activities, we can extend our strong support to our people even in simple things such as patronizing locally-made products. Just as what other people say, "Love your own.".

I was surprised when I saw this stylish bag sitting on the shelf! Who can imagine that Pinoys are this good in making bags? not to mention the quality and aesthetic.

Portion of Go Lokal! revenues will go to the various corporate social responsibility projects of Robinsons Department Store including the government's drug rehabilitation program.
