I feel like hannibal and clarice’s relationship is so much more interesting as an almost elder gay, baby gay relationship (not exactly mentor and protegé) rather than a romantic one. like he’s fascinated by her but there are no sexual or romantic feelings for little fbi trainee clarice starling. like she’s almost his equal and he’s endeared by that. does this make any sense
