If Dragon is responsible for saving Shanks in God Valley...
And then Shanks grows up into becoming Luffy's biggest influence... and also saving Luffy's life...
This butterfly effect is crazy!

Love what Oda is doing with the tale of the God Valley incident tbh (spoilers up to OP1159).
The introduction of Xebec and the fact he’s not “as bad” as the Marines first portrayed him -> that was a great example of propaganda within universe and, considering his potential similarities with Blackbeard (now we know why), most of us ate it up without thinking twice.
The fact the 3 Revolutionary Leaders were all on God Valley, on each side of the massacre (probably leading to Dragon quitting the Marines btw), is also great storytelling.
The way it ties Elbaf, the Kuja, the Rocks and the Roger Pirates, Shanks and the Revolutionary leaders all together ? A+ use of foreshadowing and world building.
Also the prizes for the hunt being “exotic" people (Shakky, Kuma, Teach…) for the Celestial Dragons is no way surprising considering past events in previous arcs. But it’s still interesting how even that super massive incident 35-40 years ago didn’t change the Celestial Dragons’ usual take on slavery and oppression: that’s a true criticism of historical supremacy right there.
Lastly, ngl Shakky being one of the enslaved prizes, being rescued (by Ray ? Dragon ? Gloriosa ?) and then deciding to live and reopen her old bar on Sabaody Archipelago, right under the Celestial Dragons’ noses ? -> 10/10 absolute Queen !
(Poor Hajruding who gave Loki only 3 minutes to explain their dad’s death, but I'm low-key convinced Gaban is pitching in every now and then to relive the old days give context.)
I wonder if Shanks and Shamrock are undercover for Dragon ???
