ARMY NOTES -Songpyeon is a traditional rice cake made and eaten during Chuseok. Most often they are intentionally shaped to resemble a half-moon. You can read more about them (+ recipe!!) here. -Chuseok (추석) also known as Hangawi (한가위) is a 3-day autumnal harvest festival held every year on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. It's pretty commonly referred to as 'The Korean Thanksgiving'. Typicaly, Koreans travel to their hometowns/ancestarial places of origin to visit their families, and pay repects to their ancestors.
