If I Can't Love Her - Beauty and the Beast

I don't expect this long post to get any notes, but I'm going to take a shot at the dark anyway. I'm trying to raise money for this AMAZING, elite theatre institute I got into, but it's really expensive. I hate that wonderful things cost money. Although, I've always grown up with very little money, so it has become easier to understand as I've gotten older. So, you can imagine how surprised I was getting the money I've gotten so far. I'm elated! My dreams are coming true!!! It's so close I can taste it. The link in the post says more info about it and how you can donate if you feel moved to do so. You are by no means obligated to do anything, I mostly just wanted to tell my idol how thrilled I am to be given this opportunity. What songwriting is for you, that's theatre for me. I have been in love with it since the day I started and I'm head over heels now. Everyone who has supported me thus far, THANK YOU. You have no idea what this means to me. It is crazy to think that this time last year I was a senior at Vanguard University. It was exactly one year ago today that performed my senior project.  A year ago I was just another Musical Theatre major gearing up for graduation and unknowns that followed.  The year that followed my graduation was filled with being a Camp Counselor in Maryland at Camp Sonshine, traveling throughout the east coast, studying musical theatre in New York and building relationships with some of the most amazing people. Those three months were a dream come true. After that I went through the darkest time. Between lack of funds and failed auditions my morale was becoming lower and lower. Don’t get me wrong God provided me with awesome shows to be apart of and I have made the most incredible friends. 

As I look back at my conversations with God I can recalled how frustrated and lonely I was (and at times I still am). I wondered where the God of mercy and grace was. I was wondered why during my most vulnerable season of my life that He seemed so distant.  

Things are getting better though.  Although that might be because my attitude has shifted to joy rather than stay in the world of self-pity. I am in a place of enjoying everything that has been put in front of me. I am still shooting for the stars and carrying love on my sleeve. I will fall along the way but YOLO.
