"People seem to be somewhat lively today..."
Epel sat by the well in the courtyard, knife gliding between the skin and flesh of a shiny red apple. The juice trickled down his hand, and he licked it off before continuing. He was in familiar territory now, sitting and carving as he had on many an afternoon. Next to him there lay a drawstring bag made of burlap, full of excess apples that had been sent to him from home. If anyone asked him for one, he'd give it to them-- he had more than he really knew what to do with, after all. For now, he stayed practicing a new carving.

"my boyfriend was really cold when we first met but i guess you could say,"
"i changed the climate"

The young king’s gaze is distant, fixed on a point somewhere behind the one who is speaking. Focus had been an unusual struggle for the past few hours, though the monarch would never stop to admit it. It would seem his ability to hide that he is unwell was reaching its limit.
“Ah, forgive me.” An apologetic smile. “I missed that last part, would you mind terribly repeating it?”
