The crystal chandeliers in the living room shone like stars, and you, with that damn impeccable wine colored dress and the innate bearing of a Wayne, seemed unattainable to anyone, untouchable, as if you were the most valuable jewel in Gotham.
You were gorgeous, completely mesmerizing to anyone, but even more so to Wally. But it wasn't anything new to anyone; it wasn't the first time he'd looked at you like that. In fact, he'd been doing it for years.
He met you when you were both teenagers, a couple of years after becoming friends with Dick. You weren't yet an active part of the vigilante world; Bruce didn't want to risk anything happening to you, but it was only a matter of time before you made a place for yourself in his world, at least working from the Batcave, providing information and conducting major investigations.
But even then, at a young age, you were a whirlwind; sharp, brilliant, with that dangerous mix of charm and sarcasm that left him speechless.
And tonight, seeing you like this, with that dress that hugged your curves with lethal precision, with that presence, while you were laughing at something that idiot Atlantean ambassador said, I felt like I couldn't keep pretending anymore.
Because now you weren't just his teenage crush, you weren't two kids anymore. He was a grown man, and you were a beautiful woman. He had to do something. He couldn't breathe at the thought of someone else getting there first.
I had to do something. I couldn't just stand there like another spectator while someone else refilled your glass and said things he wished he'd whispered to you years ago.
I couldn't breathe at the thought of someone else getting there first. Of someone else stealing your smiles, your secrets, your nights.
"Would you stop staring at my sister?" Dick asked, appearing at his side.
Wally didn't take his eyes off you, still watching every inch of you. How the hell could he get close to you if every time he spoke he was just talking nonsense? Maybe you liked that half-fish guy? Or maybe... did you always have that mole on your right breast?
"You've already broken him, you asked him for a very difficult task, Dick," Jason announced from a corner, holding a glass.
"He hasn't blinked in three minutes," Roy added, chewing on something. "Literally. I'm worried about his nervous system."
Donna placed a hand on Wally's shoulder, with that trained calm she used when someone was about to explode. "We know you can do it. But if you need help... well, we're bored, and it's a worthy cause."
"Perfect," Jason said, crossing his arms. "This is officially a field operation."
—What? No, you don't need a gun to th——Wally looked at them, somewhere between frustrated and scared.
"No one mentioned a gun," Donna interrupted, already pulling a small transmitter from her purse. "Right, Jason?"
Silence.
Jason smiled. “Didn’t you want to get rid of that guy over there?”
—Yeah, but not like that! We're not going to shoot anyone. —Wally raised his hands nervously.
"Shoot him?" Jason let out a dry laugh. "Don't worry so much about the guy, focus on keeping up with my sister."
Wally looked at him as if he'd been stabbed straight through the ego. "What kind of motivation is that?"
— a realist, —Roy chimed in naturally as he looked you up and down from afar— She's so fine, and you're... well, you're you.
"Thanks, Roy," Wally replied with a bitter smile. "It's nice to have friends like that."
"We're not your friends right now, at least not me," Jason clarified. "You want to flirt with my sister, it's totally disgusting. And Roy, shut up."
Roy threw up his hands, offended but amused. "I only tell the truth. Do you want me to lie? Do you want me to tell him he has a chance without our help?"
"Yeah!" Wally exclaimed. "Lie to me a little! Some emotional support wouldn't hurt, you know?"
—Perfect, everyone shut up —Donna took a small transmitter out of her bag— Put this on, Wally
Wally looked at her with a mixture of surprise and resignation, while Donna skillfully adjusted the transmitter behind his ear. "What's this?" he asked, somewhat nervously.
"A direct channel to us," Donna replied with a reassuring smile. "We'll guide you in real time so you don't make a fool of yourself."
"Really?" Wally blinked in disbelief. "Is this to save me from myself?"
"Exactly," Jason crossed his arms with a wry smile. "Now you really have no excuses."
Roy leaned closer, his tone more serious. "We're here to make sure you don't die virgin."
"You're an idiot Roy." Dick looked at him seriously.
Donna stepped back, assessing him like a soldier before entering the battlefield. “Ready.”
"Already?" Wally asked, feeling like his heart was going to beat out of his chest.
"Okay. Give me two minutes," Donna said, turning toward the dance floor. "And you, breathe. Straighten your back. And for the love of the Titans... don't look at that mole again."
"I wasn't going to look at the mole!" Wally protested.
Dick just patted him on the shoulder. “Good luck, West.”
And then Donna moved forward. She crossed the room with the kind of confidence that could make politicians and aliens alike tremble. By the time she reached you, your glass was already half empty, and the Atlantean ambassador was rambling on about some unimportant maritime treaty.
"Shall I steal her from you for a second?" she asked, with a charming smile. She placed a hand on your back and gently guided you away from the Atlantean ambassador. You didn't ask any questions. You knew that if Donna pulled you out of a conversation, it was for a reason.
"I owe you one," you murmured.
"You'll pay me back," she replied with a half smile before disappearing into the crowd.
You turned to go back to the middle of the room and that's when you saw Wally, just passing by, drink in hand.
His eyes found you. He stopped.
"Hey," you said, before him. Had he always had those green eyes? oh god, he has a new freckle.
"Hey," he repeated, his voice steadier than he felt inside.
>Roy: He's in! We've got eye contact!
Jason: He shouldn't be talking nonsense.
Donna: Okay, let's let him breathe.
Dick: Shhh, turn it down. He's nervous.
"Are you having fun?" you asked with a genuine smile.
"Sort of. Not as much food as I expected," Wally replied without thinking. Then he laughed at himself. "Though... I think the night's looking up now."
Roy: There! Good one! Point for the unforced comment.
Jason: I give it half a point.
"Do you want to get some fresh air? We can go... to the garden, if you like," he suggested, as if he didn't want to miss the moment.
"Sure," you replied. "Besides, they made some nice arrangements in the garden, you have to appreciate them..."
idiot, idiot, idiot, what did I just say?
You walked together without saying much at first, through the French doors that led to the garden. The fresh air enveloped them with a faint scent of jasmine and damp earth. Inside, the party continued to echo in the distance.
Wally nervously ran a hand down the back of his neck as you leaned your arms on the stone railing overlooking the lower garden.
"It's a very nice view..." he murmured.
"Yes, it is," you replied softly, without looking at him. "If you think this view is great, you can't imagine what it looks like from my room." I just invited him to my room, shit
Roy:…
Donna: THAT'S IT GIRL, SHOW HIM!
Jason: I refuse to process it.
Dick: Don't go there, Wally, don't go fucking there!
Wally choked slightly on his own breath. “From your room… do you have the best view of Gotham?” he tried pathetically.
You shrugged, amused. “Depends on what you want to see” You leaned a little closer, enjoying the mix of nervousness and tenderness he exuded, "So... do you want to see the city with me from my room sometime?"
Wally swallowed, as if he was about to say something big.
Roy: IT'S NOW, IT'S NOW!!
Donna: Don't think about it anymore, just come closer!
Jason: If they kiss, I'm cutting the channel.
Dick: Shhh, shhh, Wally's going to—
They were a second away from getting close, from finally breaking the tension, finally going to be able to live in peace, damn those beautiful eyelashes…
"tsk, fucking disgusting."
You both turned. Damian. Standing like a shadow in the bushes. Arms crossed. “Stay away from my sister or I’ll bury you alive” face.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, visibly fed up.
Damian raised an eyebrow with absolute calm. "By keeping you from making stupid decisions."
Wally opened his mouth to defend himself, but Damian glared at him before any words came out. "Slowly back away from my sister..."
BONUS SCENE
In a secluded corner of the room, away from the hustle and bustle of string music, some League members share light conversation and moderate drinks. Barry Allen glides among them with his usual restrained energy, stopping next to Bruce, who watches silently from a vantage point.
His gaze is fixed on something beyond the crowd: on the garden, where his daughter and a young redhead in a suit are laughing too close to the edge.
Barry smiles, then follows her gaze. His expression changes slightly. "Oh, I get it."
"he's too close."
Barry was holding back a laugh at Bruce's intense concern for his daughter. "Come on, Bruce. He's nervous, not a danger. He's been avoiding her for years; her breathing by his side is progress."
Bruce finally turns his face toward Barry—Tell your nephew to stay away from my daughter, not to bother her.
「 Xie Lian & San Lang / Hua Cheng x Quiet! Male Reader 」

➴ OPEN REQUESTS!
╰┈➤ Request: I would like to ask for some Hualian headcanons with a reader who usually writes a lot of love letters because he has difficulty expressing love verbally.
──★ ˙🍓 ̟!!
If you asked anyone, regardless of whether they were a god or a ghost, what the most powerful calamity was; they would definitely answer: "The Night That Never Speaks, but Swallows Stars."
So imagine the surprise on both sides, when from one day to the next, this entity appeared dating the god formerly called "His Highness Who Pleased the Gods." and the calamity "Crimson Rain Sought Flower.".
After spending some time dating this being who referred to himself as M/n, Xie Lian and San Lang realized that he was good at simply everything – being one of the oldest people to ever walk the Earth has its advantages.
After living for so long, he has literally become a pro at basically everything – both useful and useless.
Martial arts, cooking, spiritual power, farming, painting, sculpting, how to build a house from scratch, how to make origami, how to catch a fish by hand, and the list goes on.
But there was one thing he was simply terrible at – opening up to people verbally.
Knowing this difficulty, M/n decided to show his love to his two husbands in other ways: Cooking for them, doing anything they ask and much more.
M/n and San Lang definitely don't care one bit about the taste of Xie Lian's food. His monstrous food is nothing compared to the things M/n had to eat to survive. Even if his food could kill someone with poison, it wouldn't work on M/n – his body is completely immune to any kind of poison. A small gift from past failed attempts to kill him using the most lethal poisons.
M/n loves cooking for both of them. His cooking skills are incredible – better than any chef out there.
And M/n is sure that San Lang is too busy happily eating the food prepared by one of his two husbands to care about how it tastes – or maybe it's because he's already dead.
The first time they received one of M/n letters, they didn't immediately understand what was happening.
At the moment, the two were just sitting at the dinner table talking, when M/n walked through the door, handed a letter to each of them and left without saying a word.
With a confused look on their faces, they opened the letter and were met with handwriting so elegant it was almost indecipherable.
Xie Lian had an easier time understanding the writing – having been royalty for part of his life.
But, San Lang...
Xie Lian definitely spent the next few minutes helping him.
To tell the truth, it couldn't even be called a letter – Xie Lian's was just M/n praising the food he made for lunch, saying it wasn't that bad. San Lang's, on the other hand, said his hair looked nice that day.
It may seem like a small thing, but this was a big deal for both of them. M/n isn't one to talk much – a part of his personality shaped by spending so many years alone walking these lands.
And much less show your love verbally, choosing to show it through acts of service and gifts.
Even if those few words weren't much, it didn't matter – but rather, the intention behind it.
After spending some time talking and coming up with a plan while having a smile on their faces, they decided to respond to his letter with another letter.
And Xie Lian definitely spent the next few minutes helping San Lang with his writing difficulties.
While this was happening, M/n was outside watering some plants. His face looked unfazed, but he was freaking out inside.
What would Xie Lian and San Lang think of his letter? Was it too vague? He wanted to write more, but the words just wouldn't come...
He had so much to say about every part he loved about each of them. But just as he was about to start writing the letters, he simply froze and stared at the blank paper for the next few minutes.
While he was caught up in thought and watering a plant more than he should have, he didn't notice the presence of two figures approaching behind him.
M/n froze when he felt someone tapping his shoulder – looking back, he saw his two husbands smiling.
Turning completely towards both of them, Xie Lian quickly hands him something, stands on tiptoe and steals a small kiss, leaving soon after with an innocent smile on his face – soon after, San Lang imitates the same movements before following Xie Lian into the house.
Without understanding anything that just happened, M/n looks at what they just handed him – only to come across two letters.
M/n had received several of these throughout his life: confessions, proposals, contracts... threats. But never from a loved one, so he gave a rare smile and carefully opened one of the letters.
Xie Lian's is elegantly written, with at least five words – unlike his own. In it, he thanked him for the compliment about the food and complimented his own in return – saying it was definitely his favorite. This surprised him, since Xie Lian was once a prince of a prosperous kingdom and had definitely eaten dishes from renowned chefs – and yet, he chose his food as his favorite.
San Lang's handwriting was nearly indecipherable, but he'd seen worse – so it was easy to decode. Regardless, he could see that San Lang really tried his best to write, and that Xie Lian definitely helped him. In it, he said he was very happy with the compliment and responded by saying that M/n's hair was the softest thing he'd ever touched. At the end of the letter, he asked when M/n would next help him comb his hair.
As he read the letters, M/n's smile continued to grow with each word.
He slowly realized how their reply letter wasn't something long and information-filled – he was used to hearing from his former friends about the letters they received from their loved ones, which overflowed with all kinds of thoughts and feelings.
When he asked them how a letter worked, they explained that if you wanted to send one, you wrote it and had someone deliver it – but it used to take so long to be delivered, replied to, and sent back, that they would write about lots of different things to make the trip worthwhile.
So he ended up having this mentality for years about letters – that he had to write a lot. And since he'd never had a person in his life return his love in kind, he could never put it into practice.
But seeing as how his few words weren't a problem, and that both his husbands responded in the same way, M/n was able to relax a little.
Still with a smile on his face, he carefully folded the letters and put them inside his hanfu.
While gently tapping near the heart area where he placed them as if it were something precious, he walked towards home with one thing in mind – practicing his confession letters!
And that's how M/n spent the next few days writing little letters to his husbands.
At first, they were the same as their first – few words and somewhat vague. But always praising them in some way.
After a while, he gradually improved – he was able to write more than 5 words and ended with a short: "I love you." – which made Xie Lian and San Lang very happy.
They were so proud of M/n for being able to find something to express his feelings!
And of course, they both responded with their own letters – deciding in a silence agreement, responding to them with the same intensity so as not to overwhelm him.
As the days went by, M/n finally understood, after so many years, what his old friends had said with: "There's so much I want to tell them that I just can't stop writing!" – because now he found himself in the same situation.
He never thought he would one day be writing a letter to someone special – let alone two!
So, after a few months of training, he finally managed to complete an entire sheet saying everything he felt about both of them.
The three of them found themselves in a large flower field, searching for a medicinal plant. Xie Lian and San Lang were searching in one part, while M/n was a little further away – with the excuse that he was looking in a specific place.
But the truth is that M/n was hiding two letters, feeling more nervous than usual – for the first time, and perhaps the only time, he expressed his feelings and emotions like never before in his entire life.
After being betrayed so many times by people close to him and loved ones, he decided to simply close himself off completely – and after so many years, he was finally able to open up again.
It may not have been the words spoken, but those two letters were worth just as much.
Sighing, he calms down a bit. Taking a deep breath and with a new determination in mind, he walks toward his two husbands.
When they both feel M/n's presence approaching, they turn around – only for him to slowly extend his arm and hand them something.
" ...Please, read. " M/n says in a low voice, almost pleading as he looks at the floor – unable to look them in the eyes.
This leaves Xie Lian surprised, and at the same time, worried – he had never seen M/n behaving like this, much less speaking with this tone.
San lang quickly takes on a more serious demeanor, thinking something bad has happened to him.
Without saying anything, they hesitantly take the letters and open them – as they read, M/n's mind was racing.
Was it too much? Did he say something wrong?
Opening up to people again was a mistake...?
His thoughts are suddenly interrupted when he feels two figures collide with him, causing him to take a step back. Slowly looking down, M/n finds his two husbands hugging him tightly.
Without a word being said, M/n could understand what that meant. This made him give a small laugh of relief, feeling his body relax. Giving a genuine smile after so long, he hugged them both back.
Hello, I'm really hoping you can help me find this fic, I don't remember where I read it but I remember it had the knights and Arthur learning about Merlin's magic but they came to the conclusion he was a hedge wizard rather than a warlock and underestimated how powerful he was. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it!
Hi hi! I have been hyperfixating like CRAZY on Arknights recently, and I love character designing, and for fun, I thought I'd do some requests where I draw/turn your character into what I think they would look like if they were in the game/anime, Arknights!! You do not have to be familiar with the series to make the request. Also, your characters can be anthro, feral, monster, human, Pokemon, ect- it does not matter to me, I can work with anything ^^
You are free to submit as many characters as you like, but I can only guarantee one per person. I may do more if we are friends or if I really like the character (either design or personality/story wise).
If you would like one, please like this post, and send in an ask with the form filled in below!
Link/image to/of character(s):
Race: If you'd like, I can choose for you, but if you'd like to choose yourself, here's a list of all the Arknights races!
Outfit Style/Aesthetic/Acessories(optional): If you want, you can tell me what aesthetic or any outfit ideas you have in mind for your character(s)!
Anthro/Furry or Humanoid?: Arknights races have both anthro and humanoid variations (though humanoid is more common)- tell me here which one you'd like for your character! ^^
Other Details: Any miscellaneous stuff you want to mention for the design!
