Open Sessions artist Thessia Machado will be in our Main Gallery this Thursday evening with sound sculptor Ranjit Bhavnagar for a performance at 6:30pm. FREE. This is a work by Thessia Machado (b. 1967, Brazil) is in our Drawing Room gallery as part of Open Sessions 7. Machado lives and works in New York. Open Sessions 7: Hibernating Plan is on view Wed-Sun 12-6pm | Thur 12-8pm. This is a group exhibition that considers drawing in relationship to the sense of suspended time inherent in planning. Featuring artists #ShereeHovsepian, #RafaelKelman, #Arnold Kemp, #ThessiaMachado, #SunMoqing, #SaraChangYan, and #TuguldurYondonjamts, the exhibition explores the notion of the “sketch” in relation to the instinct to hibernate, intuit, and mull over. Open Sessions 7 opens tomorrow night, 6-8pm. Arnold Joseph Kemp (b. 1968, Boston) is an artist, writer, and educator. His drawings, prints, sculptures, and performances take advantage of an impure aesthetic, incorporating high and low culture, while highlighting practices that probe collective fictions of person and personality. #OpenSessions (at The Drawing Center)
