She attended a private school where she received a top notch education. Emma loves musical theater and knows all of the lyrics to nearly every Broadway hit. Despite this, she has never gone for auditions because she knows it is not a good way to spend her time when she has other goals. The sun glowed golden over evergreen hills in the Midlands of England where she was born and raised until the tender age of twelve. Her mother struggled to raise her alone both financially and emotionally and when a writing gig opened up in Paris, the pair moved to the City of Love where Alice was sent to public school without a lick of knowledge in the French language. It was a struggle at first, but she was bright and ambitious and once she picked up the language, she moved on to teach herself Italian and then Spanish. Though they never had much money and lived in a cramped flat in a low income neighborhood, Alice strove to do better and to be better. When she was accepted to Cabot Creek University, it was with trepidation that she moved; but a scholarship and the rare opportunity were enough to make her accept her admission.

In school, Alice is one of those students that is easy to overlook. Though she is intelligent, she is often too self-conscious to speak up and instead writes answers in her notebook.

Her friends think she is sweet but they worry for her flippancy with money, particularly knowing where she came from and how her mother struggled.

Back home, Alice was sometimes teased due to her funny accent, but it was never something she allowed to harm her too deeply. She had enough friends, and that was all she cared about.

Raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Eleanor was one of four children to a broken couple. Her father spent more time with the bottle than his children and her mother’s strict, Biblical views impacted the way she parented. She maintained a close relationship with a couple of her siblings, but Eleanor, like her oldest brother, James, preferred spending time outside of her home than within. She was better at flying low, hidden beneath the radar, and got away with more than some of her siblings. Summers were spent at the beach, Autumns exploring the creepiest Halloween haunts imaginable, Winters were for watching documentaries and movies based on real life events, and Springs were spent writing in gardens. A girl with a big heart and misunderstood interests, not many are able to break through her strange demeanor, but those that do are well rewarded with a great friend. She chose Cabot Creek University, in part, because of James’s stories and because he was also there; but also because it was just far enough away from home to become herself.

She passes classes easily, but her professors notice her quiet distance. She seems to have things on her mind and some want to break through her walls, but they realize that it won’t be easy.

Eleanor’s friends are eclectic. While she can be quiet and difficult to understand, she is still friendly and outgoing at times, helping her make friends from almost any social group.

In high school, she often was overlooked. She had a few groups of friends, some who went to her school and some she met elsewhere, so she was content. She preferred to spend time alone, away from her home.

Born to a family of entrepreneur restaurateurs in Washington D.C., Charlotte learned from an early age what it meant to reach for your dreams. Unafraid of hard work and difficult decisions, she grew into a young lady that always spoke her mind. From an early age, her father raised her to have not only an inner strength, but to project an outer one. From working alongside her parents, she learned how to deal with other people from all walks of life, though at times her impetuous stubbornness got her into trouble. Headstrong and heart strong, she made the decision to break away from the path her family had forged for her, determined to find what she wanted. When applying to universities, she made a pact with herself to try new things and take on new adventures, to leave herself open to all the opportunities and lessons life had to offer. After being accepted into Cabot Creek University, she snapped up the chance for a change in scenery, a place that she could call her own shots.

Her professors are fond of Charlotte’s determination and sharp wit. They see potential in her to flourish, and are always willing to assist her whenever she approaches them with issues. 

Charlotte’s friends find her funny and clever, a sarcastic remark always on the tip of her tongue. They enjoy spending time with her even though she can sometimes seem closed off.

Back in high school, she was voted “best smile.” While she was known for getting into fights with those that had bad attitudes, most of the other students enjoyed her company.

Raised in Halifax, this Canadian loves cold weather. He was born in the middle of a snowstorm that made it near impossible for his screaming mother to arrive at the hospital on time. The first child born to the new age couple, he had quite an interesting upbringing. The moment it was realized that Kal was born deaf, his parents did everything they could to assist their child on his journey that was not always easy but the only one he’d ever known. Given nothing but the healthiest foods and raised in a small community with top notch education gave him a firm foundation. Kal genuinely cares about others and wants to do whatever he can to help people. When it came time to apply for university, Kal’s decision was far from hasty. Cabot Creek was one he’d heard of during his first year of high school and he worked hard to make sure he would gain admission. His acceptance was the happiest day of his life.

Professors are impressed with his ability to get things done in a quick and efficient manner. Typically, he hands in assignments early. However, Kal does not often participate in class.

Growing up in Calgary, Canada, with the Bow River as a backdrop, Frankie witnessed some of the most breathtaking sunsets and spent their summers enjoying every last one. Their mothers worked at the local high school where they met as they were first starting out, and though some children would be embarrassed to be taught by their parents, Frankie never minded, and even delighted in their close proximity during the day. When Frankie received their acceptance to Cabot Creek University, their mothers were thrilled and threw a going away party packed with friends and relatives. During the party, Frankie smiled and laughed and tried to hide the fact that their stomach was in knots, fearful of leaving home and close family for four entire years.

Frankie’s friends understand them well, they are an open book to them, setting out who they are and how they feel for anyone to who wants to know. 

In high school Frankie was always told that they asked too many questions, but they believed there was no such thing.
