BEACH SHOT People are on the beach and throwing trash in the water. VOICE OVER When people say oceanic pollution is this what you think about? CUT TO: BEACH SCENE 2 Teenagers are drinking and throwing bottles in the bay VOICE OVER And probably this too right? BEACH NIGHT SCENE People are partying at the beach. The party finishes and they leave debris in the beach. FADE TO BLACK VOICE OVER Or maybe even this... CLOSE UP LONG ISLAND AREA Someone is walking through the street eating a bag of chips. They finish the bag of chips and throw the bag into the ground next to the trash. Person shrugs it off and keeps walking away. CLOSE UP SEWAGE DRAIN Chip bag blows away into the sidewalk. It gets pushed by peoples feet and ends up in the sewer. CUT TO: VOICE OVER But do you think of the ocean when you do this?. BAY FADE IN: A person is walking on the beach and picking trash out of the bay. FADE TO: OPERATION SPLASH OPERATION BASE VOICE OVER Operation Splash was started with one goal in mind- to help stop waterfront pollution on Long Island. CUT TO: Background shots of the Operation splash office. VOICE OVER SPLASH volunteers have removed over 1.5 million pounds of debris since 1990. This exclusively volunteer based organization was established 25 years ago in Freeport, LI. Background shots of the bay and boat cleaning. SPLASH volunteers patrol the South Shore, Long Island urban waters removing debris, monitoring and identifying pollutants as well as their sources. CUT TO: Shot of people cleaning the bay in the boat. With the leadership of talented and environmentally passionate marine tradespeople, educators and business owners, SPLASH has remained focused on its mission and produced extraordinary results. Our mission is to spread empowerment in hope to inspire others to help our communities’ environment. All it takes is one small step, and together we can change the world.
