Dear 5-year-old Kaitlyn, I know you just started your very first year of dance class; be sure to stick to it because you will grow up to become a professional dancer and performer! Your love and passion for dance will lead you to start your platform, "Operation Empowerment" - empowering children through the arts! On your journey, you will share your talents with many different people from many different walks of life. You will realize that all people don't have equal access to the arts. Since you've been dancing for the past 19 years, you recognize how the arts have helped define you. You are the empowered individual youu are at 24 because of your involvement in the arts. It becomes your lifelong goal to ensure all children regardless of their circumstances has equal access and exposure to the arts. You will develop "Operation Empowerment" into a statewide program. You will meet and exceed all goals you set. You will partner with theaters and community centers throughout NJ and PA to expose underprivileged children to live theater. You will raise money to scholarship children to participate in dance, voice, acting and art lessons. And you will mentor, empower and encourage children to use their talents to give back to the community. In the words of former First Lady, Michelle Obama, "The arts aren't just a nice thing to have.
