"D-Day" and "Operation Neptune" Tuesday, 6 June 1944 was the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, was the largest seaborne invasion in history. On this day, 156,000 troops from the United States, Great Britain, and Canada stormed five beaches. Allied casualties were roughly at least 10,000, with 4,414 confirmed dead approximately 2,000 of them were American. Please take a moment of silence today, and thank the many soldiers who fought and died for our country and the world on D-Day. #dday #operationneptune #operationoverlord #worldwar #worldwarII #worldwarIImemorial #ddaylandings #ddaybeaches #americastrong #seaborne #history #britain #canada #victory #normandy #normandybeach #normandyinvastion #thebeach #utahbeach #pointeduhoc #omahabeach #goldbeach #junobeach #swordbeach #america #womanstrong #france #europe #qualityfoundationrepair https://www.instagram.com/p/ByXrN6sBtW6/?igshid=os7yudsjsibc
