With the Venus open world, Orb Vallis and Fortuna, presumably around the corner (November perhaps?) I felt inspired to bring back this kiddo. Kouki’s story is linked to the Corpus, so it only seem appropriate to have him ready for this new region.
In the progression of his character arc, he started with a very different palette, but ended up with a more Corpus-aligned aesthetic for his Warframe, Vauban Prime. Now, I updated his operator suit to reflect this change, so now the colors match. I also switched up some of his aesthetics since I now have the Prime Commodore suit, but I also added the Ki’teer Atmos Mask because it suits his aesthetic I think.
Anyway, expect more pictures of him... and probably more special visitor encounters, since his doppelganger seems more inclined to make appearances than Regulus’.
“I liked your gift,” Kouki’s face is twisted up in his usual smug grin, a glint of humour in his eyes. “So I got you one in return.”
Anisim looks at his friend closely for any hints of good natured malice, but he seems harmless enough. Carefully, he unwraps the small box proffered to him with an impatient jab.
“Ah. A noggle...of you.” He tries to inflict a sarcastic, disapproving tone, but the corners of his mouth turn up despite his best efforts to keep a straight face. “Yes, I don’t think I see you around often enough. Good thing you’ve got this to keep me company. Shame it can’t trash talk like you, though.”
They stare at each other, eyes locked for a few moments of silence, but before long Anisim breaks, unable to contain himself, and the two of them double over with laughter, pushing one another playfully.
(It’s been such a long time since they’d met. Freedom is everything.)
we also took a serious group shot of our eidolon hunting team :D
A few choice picks from the recent photoshoots I’ve done with Kouki’s Vauban Prime. He rocked the Zarr and the Fragor Prime in his “youth” - before he met Anisim - and both weapons were his most prized possessions. He likes big booms and beating his foes into a pulp.
Ah, and you can clearly see his syandana here! It looks great; I love it. He’s sporting the Stalker’s sigil on his back, too, and this syandana is great because it shows that off nicely.
Alright, y’all are probably sick of this guy by now, so this will probably be the last post about Kouki for some time, especially considering I’ve switched back to Regulus. Cheers!
Oh yeah... look who came back. His appearances are getting worse and worse, god damn.
He’s not just hanging there. Oh no; he occasionally lurches forward and swings back while cackling sinisterly. Yes, he’s actually laughing. What a freak.
And the story behind this? Well, it starts like this - after his third appearance, I decided to stop looking for him on purpose. I check the front of the orbiter, but I don’t venture back. However, as you all know, Plains of Eidolon just dropped, so of course I’ve been getting back into the game. There are new things for operators to wear; yay! I decided to buy one of the sets because I really didn’t want to grind the standing for it.
So, great; Kouki’s got a new look! Without thinking, I get out of the somatic link and walk towards the door. The door opens. And look who was waiting. Not gonna lie, this was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced in this game. I was so horrified, terrified. I fucking hate this kid. Stop doing this you little shithead. Just. Just leave me alone.
Cephalon Celaeno’s operator here (the Harrow) certainly wouldn’t know these two, and neither would they have much reason to spend time here of all places, but it’s a pretty scene and we looked really good, so I can’t complain.
Pictured in the first image, from left to right: Kouki (he/him), Anisim (he/him), Madge (she/her)
[Kouki can’t stand to think of losing him now. His loneliness begs him to try.]
“Anisim, it’s not a flaw, you’re not flawed. I keep trying to tell you this, pal, these “flaws” you’re talking about are the reason I think- no, know- that you’re a person. You’re not a f*ckin’ robot. I don’t know what sort of things they’ve filled your head up with but it ain’t true.”
“No...I do not believe you. The Corpus created me. I am bound by precepts, not duties. I exist to serve my masters.”
“Then why are you here? With me? You want to go back so bad, kill me now and go. But I know you won’t, because you like me, and you’re curious, and the outside world is beautiful to you. You’re always saying it. I know you want to find out. You hate feeling like there’s something wrong with you, and you want me to be right.”
[Anisim wants to believe him. He thinks of Earth and longs to feel the sun.]
