OMG SAY HI TO THEM FOR ME
ELSINORE is the game it is because everyone on the game— writers, designers, programmers, and artists alike— were united around the goal of realizing Hamlet into an interactive sandbox.
It sure was hell of a lot of work. But we’re proud of it, every day.
Anyway, buy this thing we’re proud of for DIRT CHEAP while it’s still on sale! DO IT!
This time a couple of sweet girls appear. An idol and her bookworm moirail. These two look like they could start a revolution
~Hey there~ ~I’m Ophela Corbel, but you probably know my work~ ~Don’t worry I’m easy to reach~ ~Music is the easier way to show others the way to the true freedom~

Lumineers - Cleopatra (Target Exclusive)
The Lumineers- Cleopatra-The Lumineers are one of my all time favorite bands. They are gritty, lyrically wonderful, instrumentally solid and classic in every kind of way. They trust their voices, know their way around their instruments and around our hearts. This is my first impression, fourteen track break down of their second studio album, Cleopatra.
Track 1-Sleep On the Floor- off to a great start. You get a new twist (electric guitar) and a familiar stylistic choice (kick drum.) This song is delightful. I don’t know what it is about this band that makes me want to run away from home with nothing but the clothes on my back and live, break into tears and also triumphantly drive through town with the windows down (its 19 deg F here so I wont be doing much of that.) they are staying true, we are getting new elements, its exciting, it’s new- you can hear the production changes and smoothness, new distortion effects but you still get lyrics you can feel and a kick drum that beats with your heart. Thank god we don’t have a Mumford & Sons catastrophe. My heart isn’t broken. sidenote: these lyrics my goddddddddddd.
Track 2-Ophelia- This is the only new Lumineers track that comes on the radio, and my god when it does I all but get in a wreck. Complaints- the length. that’s all. This song is everything I wanted from this band. Lately I’ve been majorly disappointed with sophomore albums (Half Moon Run, Walk the Moon, the 1975, i could go on, really) and I am just so happy so far. This review might be annoying but I am genuinely so excited. I’ve waited and it was worth it. (the piano is amazing)
Track 3-Cleopatra- Again we get that distorted (acoustic electric? don’t think so but maybe) electric which is new but still manages to be folk. I’ve heard this song but I haven’t dug into it. The easy, gritty distortion makes this a good building tone for this band. It isn’t too much, it isn’t fabricated you can basically feel it coming through the amp. lyrically you get that all or nothing love story that weighs so heavy on my heart. I can’t quite explain and I’m not sure I want to label it, but as i’ve said, my god.
Track 4-Gun Song- intro with this super studio/empty arena filled, acoustic electric amp sound. the dub lub drum hits hard. you get that melancholy heaviness that makes you think. and then lyrically you are kind of transported to another generation, one where you call your s/o your sweetheart. I almost would like to call this an answer to Foster The People’s Pumped Up Kicks bird call. No? I don’t know where that came from. Anyway we get that simplicity that is so dimensional. I’d love to know how that happens.
Track 5-Angela-this intro is wonderful. The flow of this album, lyrically is also quite genius. every sound is so different from the first album, so different and new but so familiar. they’ve cracked the second album code. they’ve created their own.
Track 6-In The Light- this is like the wordy interlude. I like it, pleasant, modernized(compared to other tracks) with the beginning piano chords and the production layered with them. This is a lot going on for a lumineers song, it isn’t my favorite but I do like it. they get a little bluesy or something and I kinda like it.
Track 7-Gale Song- Halfway through already. deep breaths. This is like an ode to slow it down and stubborn love as the pretty, stripped down to skin and bones song. pretty and sad, pretty and sad and getting you in all the worst places. Even when you haven’t been through it, you can feel the story, and feel a piece of your own. they have a grasp on who they are, their musical identity, they know where they are and want to be, and we are getting places. This isn’t a repeat of the last album, but it isn’t a genre leap or an attempt to claw back into the industry. it’s just right.
track 8-Long Way Home- can’t say I mind this electric transition. I mean it’s something that can be done so well and keep the genre (George Ezra, Hozier, James Bay, etcccccc.) The finger style basically slurs right into your heart. Vocally we get that gritty croon that we (if you have ears) love so much. it’s beautiful, reminiscent of the great song writers and instrumentalists of the past, yet revealing to the future.
Track 9-Sick In The Head- We get the next chapter of the Flowers In Your Hair finger picking. Whatever kind of windy sound effects they threw on this, idk it just works. And the cello is killing me. everything about this track is just flawless. seriously I don’t even know how to describe this kind of delight, this type of feeling.
Track 10-My Eyes- wow this is wow. “oh, the devils inside, you opened the door, you gave him a ride. too young to know, too old to admit that you couldn’t see how it ends. what did you do to my eyes?” It hits you everywhere. Well, it hits me everywhere, anyway. this is flawless from the twangy strums to the gentle piano yes. this is what i needed.
Track 11- Patience- that dissonant sound. i think that is a theme on this album, dissonance, resolving into something cozy and warm. this feels like the end, how do you capture the finale? ?. Here’s the interlude, and it feels like a goodbye. (why do all interludes always sounds like they have a lightly layered playground effect over them?????) it is the end unless you go the target exclusive like I did.
Track 12- Sailor song (Moitessier)- Google it. It does the story justice, I think.
Track 13-For Fra- It takes you back before you were even alive. I love how you can hear the tapping of their feet and their words of excitement.
Track 14- Boots Of Spanish Leather- BOB DYLAN. as if it couldn’t get any better just this album is my favorite of the year and it just makes everything alright and I am so happy it exists.
10/10
