I know that there are some people that think it’s weird that people are actually mourning Opportunity or just they empathize and love their personal robots in general but I think it’s cute.
It shows that humans can show compassion to things that can’t experience it themselves. Giving love and being grateful to something that can’t even comprehend it in its code.
Like giving a computer a name, mumbling a compliment to a hardworking roomba, or having conversations with Siri or Alexa.
Even though these things can’t feel the love they’re getting, humans unconditionally love and appreciate them anyways. And idk I think that’s just rlly cute.
