The Lake of Koi was a beautiful place, one that Adora couldn’t help but smile at. The serene water, the stunning fish, and the surrounding scenery... it was unlike any place she had seen in Etheria. The fog surrounding most of the lake made it so mysterious, but not unsettling. Adora wondered how such a place came to be; was it magic, natural, or man-made? 

Upon learning about boat rides that offered trips across the lake, Adora couldn’t help but desire to traverse it. She was quick to find a boat, but there were only so many available at certain times. So, with an awkward chuckle, she ended up forcing her way into a conversation that probably didn’t concern her. Another person wanting to travel across the lake, a man she did not know. He probably wanted to do so alone, but Adora didn’t consider that at all.

“Uhhh, hi!”

“Mind if I join you?”

By the looks of it, Adora wouldn’t be taking ‘no’ for an answer.

“Hey. What’s that? There, right there. You got something... on your face...a little to the left.” 

Catra didn’t know why she had come here. In a different lifetime this bamboo field was a training spot between two weird friends, but now they were strangers. She scratched at the side of her face to demonstrate. Half of her face was pitch black, and half of his was scalded off and covered in a bandage. They were almost matching in how broken they both were. 

Catra suddenly bent down low on all fours. The other was too busy staring at her. You should take a look at yourself, she wanted to say, You’re even more of a mess than I am. She didn’t. She was silent, like a hunter with their prey. She pounced suddenly to close the distance between them and tackled the other boy.

She dug her claw deep into the bandages wrapped around his face and ripped them off. She wanted to see the still-bleeding wound. She wanted to see him, as broken as she was. 

“There it is.” 

She said, bitingly sarcastic.  Literally, she looked like she wanted to bite him. 

“Hey look! We totally match! Everyone can see our scars. I... kind of feel sorry for you.” She said it only because she knew it would piss him off. Pity was the last thing she wanted too.

Hello, I have been super busy in life and will unfortunately be dropping Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender :( He was housed in APT 120.

Well, waking up as himself is always a relief. At least, it is for the few moments before he thinks about going outside, and encountering whatever friends and family have gotten their traumatic pasts dragged into the present on this fine day.

It isn’t far at all before he sees a face he recognizes--or at least, a scar he does. Except it’s not exactly a scar yet. The huge burn mark covering the side of this kid (kid!!!)’s face looks recent, and it looks bad.

“Hey, uh,” he starts carefully, keeping himself at a nonthreatening distance from Zuko, because he’s been attacked by two family-members-turned-children already this week. “That’s--your eye looks like it--it needs treatment. I’ve got some medical supplies, if you want help...?”

The humanoid is holding fire in his hand. The flame isn’t very large, but it catches Rung’s attention anyway. He’s reminded of Rodimus; while summoning a small flame is a far cry from letting fire erupt from one’s entire frame, Rung’s never known anyone else who can do something like this.

“Excuse me,” he says softly, approaching the stranger slowly and with as much care as he can manage-- he knows his stature and appearance can be alarming to some.

“That’s quite a remarkable talent. Is-- that a form of magic?”

The Golden Ward at least felt more open and easy to get around in than the place Toph had wound up in.  All the architecture was still so bizarre, though- the exteriors felt similar enough to earth, but she could feel all the metal supports inside, and all the glass too...not to mention just how massive some of them could be.  There was so much noise and activity going on in certain sections, too.  Some kind of festival was going on?  Whatever, she was just getting used to getting around and familiarizing herself with the city as a whole.

As she neared the corner of what felt like an alleyway, she picked up a rushed set of footsteps rapidly approaching.  Thinking ahead to avoid a collision, the girl stopped on the sidewalk to let the oncoming stranger pass by.  Her sense had proven quite useful in dodging out of the way for all kinds of situations, after all.

Of course, if the running person happened to take a sharp turn in her direction, she’d only have so much time to jump out of the way- “so much time” in this case meaning “none at all.”

“Ow!” she yelped aloud, the impact of another person’s body slamming into her own knocking the girl off her feet and onto the ground beneath.  Fortunately she landed with her upper half off the ground, so any potential head injuries were avoided.  Of course, that didn’t make her any less displeased about the crash.

“Hey, you mind watching your corners a bit more?!” Toph shouted, eyes glaring ahead into thin air.  “I could’ve cracked my head open like a melon if I hadn’t fallen upright!  Be more careful when you’re running around in this kinda place, maybe?”
