Dating

Do you remember that time where we were so innocent and did not have a care in the world, but as the years past during those hard teenage years things suddenly got a lot tougher. When you were younger all you had to show a girl you like her, the only thing you needed was poo on a stick and chase them. But as we get older in my opinion the harder it gets, I don't know whether this is just me. I have found out that lot of not just my male friends but also female friends find first date tricky ones and would usual just bat them off without a second thought. But the hardest part is actually going up to someone who they have known for a bit or just met and asking them out or just for a number, this is where their is comparison between men as the most cocky and full of confidence will not fear when it comes to this and the other type will be nervous and sweating, rejection for them will be the worst thing and knock them back even further on the dating game. Today we have so many ways to communicate to future partners, for example Facebook, Twitter and Dating Service websites. The latter I think has effected dating due to the fact it is for people with low self confidence having another way to communicate to the opposite sex, but I don't see why a guy can go up to a girl and ask for her number then they will get the feeling of achievement as well as pride and would not be afraid to do it again. I think that the fear of rejection has been made worse by the self infliction of self body image and self identity of the perfect female and male bodies in magazines and television adverts, why can we not revert back to the 60's and 70's where curvy women were the fashion models and men were actually allowed to have body hair. I bet if Marilyn Monroe was alive today she would just be a waitress in some old bar or pub and men would not even turn their heads twice if she walked down a street past them. Today men's body images are meant to be hairless with muscles showing out of every body part, I believe that 9 out of 10 women would prefer to have a man that had no hair on his body but speaking for a men with hairy chest, I think it still shows our masculinity but not everyone agrees. I believe in todays youth due to the clubbing scene it would probably be easier to have a boozy one night stand (not speaking from experience) than go on a normal date. This brings us to the age old question is chivalry dead? In today's society I believe that chivalry is on the cusp of extinction but there is still a small numerous amount of people who have the kindness within them to bring it back. I believe that if one looks at another person social interaction it will make them repeat the action to others, as I believe we are all interlinked and that ones interaction with one and other will change are views in society. This will mean we could bring back chivalry such as holding a door open for women or simply saying the words "your beautiful" to a stranger. Just asking for one act of kindness a day, that will help to put a smile on someones face and lighten up their day. Or is it just me is dating too easy with all the ways that are now available to us, am I just a pessimist who has a closed mind. Do I need to change my view to optimism that the right girl will be along you just have to wait till you know. Thank you for reading any J x
