I came to the realization that Opportunist doesn’t truly shine in a positive manner in any route tbh. Maybe The (Wounded) Wild??

He’s more interesting to have in HEA than Paranoid, as he never shuts up lol. But like?? In Thorn, while he’s okay with helping the Princess (still offering other options) and seems more willing to improve- it really isn’t orchestrated by him though.

Broken and Cold really shine in Fury if you get either one of them through Adversary. Cold is the only one really able to support you in MOC. And Broken is a sweetheart in The Cage as well.

Stubborn & Skeptic are awesome in the Den. Hunted is amazing in EOTN. Paranoid is…awesome in a lot of routes ngl- Apotheosis, The Cage, and even The Nightmare.

Contrarian doesn’t ’do’ TOO much, outside of being some needed levity lol

Cheated doesn’t have any huge ‘wins’ from what I remember but…well that makes sense.

I definitely think it’s largely because Oppy doesn’t truly make decisions of his own 90% of the time so he has no big wins of his own. Probablyyy doesn’t help his popularity though.

When you hug Opportunist from behind, he always flinches.

Until one day…he doesn’t.

No one compares Opportunist and Cold, but I wanna because they are my favorites.

Oppurtunist is about brining people together on some level (for his own gains), contrasting with Cold’s detachment. BUT- these mindsets have consequences.

Namely, in the way they function with others outside of a life/death situation. Cold already doesn’t ‘fit in’…but does Opportunist?

On the surface, maybe, but they both struggle with connecting with others- Opportunist sees others as potential threats, he won’t trust them.

Cold’s detachment doesn’t hurt others purposefully, but Oppy’s distrust? Well…we’ve seen what he can do for his own sake.

When Cold falls in love, it’s confusing and messy but he hides it so he looks graceful as he does.

When Opportunist falls in love, he falls hard. Straight on his face, a flailing foolish mess. Tries to smile like nothing is happening but there’s blood everywhere and his nose/beak is busted.

Hero gets woken up by knocking on his bedroom door, it’s 4am.

It’s Opportunist- always smiling but it’s nervous rn: “I threw up.”

Hero sighs.

If they’d just followed his lead- they’ll understand! He’s doing this for them, all the pain and suffering will be worth it once they are at the top!! They can be anything there, do anything…and no one will hurt them ever again…!
