Daily Destiel 💙💚
A Castiel who never rescued Dean from hell or Cas, Deans’s angel. Getting what you wish for always comes with a cost. 🥹😭💔
all ive wanted since 2013 was for dean to hear what castiel said to him today like holy shit...he does run on love...he needed to hear that i needed him to hear that wtffffff
yeah it’s like even BEYOND canon deancas i needed dean winchester to hear in black and white english that he’s good and selfless and kind and has an ethos entirely based in love and that he’s worth loving even when that means the person who love him can’t be with him. castiel needs to hear that he’s STUPID for assuming dean wouldn’t love him back but we’ll get to that in due time. for now it was absolutely essential for dean to hear that he’s Good and Worthy and it was essential for us to hear it too!!!!!!!
Ok, this is why I am so unhappy with the finale and what it meant for Dean Winchester.
This bitch ass mf spent the better part of 15 years being a reflection of something or someone.
Dean literally spent most of his life trying to live up to his father’s expectation to what he should be, because he couldn’t see himself be worth of anything more than that.
Dean spent most of his life trying to be his brother’s keeper, because he couldn’t see himself be worth more than Sam.
Dean spent most of his life as a weapon, because he couldn’t see himself be worth more than the lives he saved.
Dean spent most of his life literally throwing himself at death’s door, many and many times again, because he thought he was not worth enough for someone else to die in his place.
He suffered so much loss, betrayal, and generally being used as a de facto punching bag, while continuing to consider himself to be worthy enough just to get to the point of shanking the next monster, killing the next big baddie. Rinse and repeat.
The man was literally on the verge of suicidal for so long, telling Sam multiple times “This is how I’ll go, there’s nothing for me. I’m not worth it”.
Didn’t matter that Sam told him otherwise, many times. Or the rest of his family (both alive and dead). Or the rest of his friends, ya know... his extended family, because family don’t end with blood (big theme in the show)
It took the better part of his entire life to gain a spark of hope, of exercising free will, that maybe, just maybe, he is worth more than a obedient soldier’s death. He is allowed to be selfish, he is allowed to dream for a future in which he grows old and grey. A future where is loved!!! as a person and not seen just as a useful weapon. (Don’t get me started on who said those words and finally got through his thick skull. Idiots the both of them)
His last and biggest fight is with the Ultimate Being™ that wishes to dictate how to Dean will live his life.
And Dena, once again, he literally defeats the odds and beats God! And when God taunts him to follow through with what he was designed and crafted to be, a weapon, Dean decides that “No, thank you, I will not kill you. I choose the hard route. I choose to carry on and to live my life. I choose to be selfish and happy”
This mf doesn’t even get 48 hours of his own life (but hey, he got pie!) before he gets killed in the most ridiculous way.
Dean died scared. He was petrified. And not just because it would mean leaving Sam. He was terrified because, for once, he really wanted to live and carry on. He was not ok with dying. And with his dying breaths he begs Sam to not bother with trying to bring him back. In five minutes he reverts back to ‘I am not worth the trouble’.
So instead he got yeeted to heaven to do nothing but drive around and wait for his baby brother, once again back to being Sam’s keeper and a reflection of Sam’s worth.
Don’t get me wrong, I am glad that at the end Dean got the peace he deserved, and the heaven that he deserved (which incidentally was created and fixed up for him by a joint effort from his adopted son - the new God - and the celestial being that fell in love with Dean, but hey) but my man got robbed of his agency and free will after a 15 year arc of self-realization and self-love.
I’m sad. He deserved better.
I love one (1) Pervy Angel.
Sorry but what is wrong with stan twitter, why do they come up with such weird takes smh
