Today's thing We Need To Talk About is:
that sneak-peak about the lock
Specifically, the beginning when Alec is dragging Magnus along and is refusing to tell him where they're going because, "it's a surprise", and Magnus replies that he, "doesn't like surprises".
He looks terrified. Surprises don't excite him, not even when they're from his boyfriend; instead, they scare him.
When I first watched this earlier today, the first thing that I thought of was that one scene from The Fosters where Callie says she doesn't like surprises.
Which begs the question in my mind:
How many bad surprises has Magnus had that made him dislike them enough to fear them?
