i think i can imagine some former rock band leaders have some history with the charters too i imagine one that was very close to j in the war and they were a mass of violet clouds and for a while they thought j was dead

Funnily enough, I have J being much more closely related to the Goolings than to a possible rival band! But I'm sure he would definitely know of lots of Rock bands at the time! Just not super personally. (I have so flipping much story for Neon J it's not even funny)

But that is a cool idea! I for some reason see DJSS as having some beef with one of the former rock band members who tried to kick them out of DJing at a club before Nova was a charter. Just two old guys fighting over a space to play music lol.

I don't really see Eve or Sayu's crew having any meaningful relationship with older rock bands because of their age. If anything, maybe Eve would at least KNOW of some because of her relations to Zuke, though I feel as though Eve was the one leading things in the band while Zuke just followed along, so Eve might not know that much about his interest in rock bands (along with the fact the two probably talked more about art than music).

Now for Mama, I'm like 50-50 split on this idea. I like the idea that she stayed away from other genres and only stayed within the classical music genre, but she also does the EDM mixing for Yinu's music (at least I think she does) so she could have experience with other genres and bands.

I do definitely think Papa knew a rock band member personally. Either that member turned to classical music or Papa played a bit of rock, but no matter what I think he would have been good friends with one of them. Maybe Mama hung out with them, or she didn't vibe with them and just let Papa have his friend to hang out with. I don't think she would have kept in touch after Papa's passing though. I feel like she kinda secluded herself and put her whole self into caring and raising Yinu.

Wait, hold on. Would Ex-Jay counts as an old rock band? Like they were pretty popular before NSR became a full titan of a corporation (which took like maybe 5-6 years in total, maybe a tiny bit more. still working on that timeline), but they weren't around for the Goolings' time. Because they definitely have a bit of history with Sayu and 1010.

Speaking of 1010, they also don't have any meaningful connection to old rock bands since they were made fairly recently. Kinda. Their history is weird on activation times and memory-wise. They do have a connection to Ex-Jay and West, and knew about the Goolings, but none of those relations were a two-way street.
