also, maria hill's whitewashing (white latinox exist, sure, but maybe they should have cast a white latina woman?) and coulson white-middle aged generic dude taking her place as head of SHIELD

Well the thing with with Maria Hill isn't so much that she was a white latinx in the comics (she's a quarter Cuban I think? so getting at least a biracial or mixed latinx woman would have been ideal, although a white latinx would have been acceptable I guess) but yeah casting Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill (Smulders' is super white, she's Canadian, has English and Dutch heritage so no chance of even being a white latinx at all) was completely whitewashing.  

And so yeah the erasure of latinx in the MCU is p straightforward. You've got the first named latinx character Jasper Sitwell (yeah he was racebent for the MCU but he was all we had) being written completely ooc in CA:TWS and being killed off as a disposable traitor. Then they whitewash Maria Hill because they don't give a fuck and hand the team to generic white guy Coulson who basically now has taken both Hill's and Sitwell's positions.  

Like I keep hoping that Coulson rebuilds and hands back the agency to Fury or that he passes it on to May but I doubt they'll let that happen any time soon. At least if they'd given SHIELD to Victoria Hand it would have been a queer woman.  At any rate she seemed more capable than when Coulson had his alien-brain-flu thing.
