I am constantly torn between telling my friends and family that I’ll just listen to music or try to deal with it when they make sounds that trigger my misophonia (especially with sounds they can’t control) and wanting to tell them to try coughing more quietly, or to be more conscious of their sounds when around me. Like, I don’t want to be a bitch but I also don’t want to tear my eyes out of their sockets, ya dig? Its hella frustrating. I literally almost cried in my business law class today, I was so overwhelmed by the sounds.
