I have another idea 😅 for librarian and coach Steve…. The teachers have to participate in a charity baseball game and during practice one of the teachers that has a huge crush on Steve is super jealous and hits the ball directly towards her and it smacks our bookworm in the chin and Steve loses it because he went to school with that girl and she played softball so he knows she can control where she’s hitting the ball and now librarians chin is bleeding and Steve is hyperventilating because flashbacks and trauma from the upside down and he rushes her to his office in the gym like she’s losing a limb and he gets her all cleaned up and holds her to his chest just to feel her breathing before taking her out for milkshakes and burgers and he fusses over her chin every time she winces at the pain

the way everyone was immediately unbothered and supportive of van damme changing his name and even correcting themselves/each other was a perfect showcase of how fucking simple it is to apply this to peoples pronouns and/or trans people sharing their new name(s). the only comment being, (chris) “i think he wants to be called van damme now” and arlo saying, “why?” to which chris responds, “well, we’d probably have to dive into his childhood for that answer.” like!! cis people will have wild nicknames and no one gives a second thought but when it’s a trans person telling you how to refer to them all of a sudden that’s “too much” “too complicated” and “confusing” like no it’s literally not you’re just being fucking hypocritical and transphobic stfu. and now i really need to see someone wearing a “protect trans kids” shirt this season please and thank you.
