River: Do you?… Emil? I have seen what you’re capable of in desperation and fear. You have literally eaten a human being right in front of Flynn and the kids. Even to protect them…
Emil: I will never hurt Flynn.
River sighed and didn’t voice his words as his eyes fell on his son. He loved his son, but as much as he saw Rylan’s worriedness and selflessness in him, he also saw his own volatile nature brewing under the seams. His fear was that this would cause Emil to turn against Flynn and harm him in desperation.
River: I don’t want to do this. But if you two are resolute on reforming this bond -he sighed- I will help. I don’t know if there’s any way to remove the subjugation element from the familiar bond… And I don’t know of any ‘soulmate’ bond among sages… Maybe if I ask the werewolves for help with their fated mate thing…
Flynn looked at his dad, a part of him worried about just the things his dad mentioned. This was a familiar bond, it was a bond of subjugation and the last thing he wanted was to bind Emil in that way. What if he unwillingly controlled Emil somehow, not by will, but by wishing for something? Yet hearing Emil's comment about how empty it felt, that it was hollow, and to the point of unbearable, made him more sure he wanted to at least try. If it did not work or felt off, they could remove it.
Flynn: I am, if it doesn't feel right I can remove it again like last time. -he smiles at Emil.- I know you told me about the fated mate thing, perhaps it's worth checking out indeed.
