Well it didn’t post the first time I tried so take two!
It’s spooky season, so you know what that means! The first of my Knight Rider spooky edits! This one is strictly surrounding Fright Knight, and is to the song by Ray Parker Jr. Ghostbusters from Ghostbusters.
I enjoyed making this, even if it did not turn out how I expected.
So now the only question is; Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters? Or FLAG Operatives? Or as RC likes to say, Phantom-busters!
Enjoy!
Question of the post; (besides the rhetorical one above) April or Bonnie? I personally will take Bonnie over April.
So I just saw some of the promo material for the new Prince of Egypt musical...and I kind of hate it.
The things that I love so much about the movie seem to have been stripped away to make way for Standard Musical Fare, and I really dislike that. The costumes are All Wrong, the ensemble is dressed like some kind of Mad Max postapocalypse instead of like a bunch of Egyptian workers. The music seems higher? I am not a music person but it seems like they’ve shifted most of the baritone parts to tenor parts, and that makes it sound (to me) like the difference between a high school production and an adult cast. Finally, it sounds like they’ve turned the very distinct part at the end of Deliver Us from a very tonally appropriate thing into some kind of pop riff and that is wack. Overall it feels like some post-Hamilton musical commercialism was the guiding force behind these choices, and not the deep and abiding respect that the movie had for the story. Like literally in their trailer they were like “wasn’t that a great movie” rather than “This is an important story, one that we think is moving and powerful and we love” and they were on about Stephen Schwartz and production values and honestly? It is the wrong tone for this particular musical.
This might be my favourite ToFi ever?? I can’t stop listening!!!
I gotta emphasize how important it is to me when it comes to professionally recorded Broadway musicals like I watched a hamilton bootleg the other day, and mind you it’s the first time me watching hamilton, I till this day have no idea what the plot is bcs I can’t for the life of me hear what they’re mostly saying/singing. It also doesn’t help that I have zero clue regarding politics in english bcs I still couldn’t really understand the plot after reading the plot on wikipedia.
Am I like the only one on this problem or are there other ppl that suffer with the ‘wtf are they saying???’ bullshit?
me every morning after before i dramatically open the shower curtain: and tonight the part of everyone in Les Mis will be played by me
the oliviers are making me so so emotional im such a wuss
