I love all Jason Todd hcs, no exceptions. ESPECIALLY one's about 'coming back wrong' and his death effecting him deeply.
But idk, I also like the concept that he didn't fundamentally change. Like, he was a sweetie pie as Robin, but he did explicitly approve of extra judicial murder by a victim. And even if he didn't outright push him, he didn't exactly SAVE Felipe when the man fell off his balcony. In a world where those things are true, it's not that he CHANGED it's that he's remembered WRONG.
He came back and nothing changed. He was replaced, people continued to be victimized just like him. So, he decided he needed to revenge HIMSSELF on Bruce and on the world. But he also decided he would do what was NECESSARRY to ensure that there are less victims like him. If that means killing, if that means controlling crime through force? So be it.
But Bruce, Dick, everyone, they remember him wrong. Everytime they look at him like he's a stranger, everytime they choke up about how he used to be he wants to scream.
Because he didn't change, not in the ways they think. He didn't come back WRONG he came back ANGRY. But it didn't change him, not fundamentally.
Jason Todd didn't change, their memories did.
