i have not watched this movie and i wont, but after watching a ton of commentary videos, i finally found someone talking about it. we all know how problematic Cuties is bc of its hypertextualization of real kids but not a lot of ppl talk it’s rampant islamophobia. like thanks for playing with the worst fucking cliché and making us all look extremely misogynistic. Im not saying it doesnt exists (extremely conservative parents (men) where they abuse their power) it does, but guess what? we fucking hate these ppl, or at least, i certainly do

there is already so much hate against muslims and this movie just FUELS this hatred by showing us a terrible family as “the norm” and white ppl being their saviors by deliberating their strict mentality... really? the whites saving the day is still a thing?

I heard there was polygamy, they plug it as a casual thing... polygamy is JUST ALLOWED, not ENCOURAGED nor the AVERAGE. i only know one family member who have two wives, and to be honest, its not the cool nor the manly thing to do, its fucking demanding. the man isnt allowed to marry another woman if he cant properly provide to both, he needs to love and give both of them equally, stop fucking portraying polygamy as the cool thing, its really not. (i personally believe it creates more problem than anything)

idk where ppl get that “when a girl gets her periods, she needs to cover/wear a veil” maybe it’s the case in very conservative countries (bc of their laws), but otherwise, there is no age in wearing the hijab. i wore it before i got them and continued even after. the decision to wear a hijab is totally up to the girl/woman herself, if she doesnt want her whole life, that’s her choice! the moment it’s imposed, its bad. if i hear a man forcing his wife or daughter to wear it, im throwing hands. why? bc there is no honest intention in that girl/women, we base a lot our believe in our intentions, so if it’s forced, the intentions are dishonest, so the good deed will just never count in (and actually count as bad for that person who forced it upon her). and also, THE HIJAB IS MEANT TO BE EMPOWERING, NOT A FORM OF SUBMISSION!!!

i heard the protagonist had to do all chores in the house when she was “a women” (aka, she’s still 11 but she had her period) so she needs to act like one... i hate people who rip out the childhood of kids to prepare them to adults life.... fuck off, we’re passed the marriage of minor girls with men, im sick of this, my parents would never let me date under 14 let alone marrying... (i never dated anyway so), so that whole “she’s preparing herself to be a perfect wife” is fucking bullshit from these bad parents, not religion

my parents always treated me as their rare gem, they wont let me do certain things in order to protect me, despite me not liking their methods, they do it with good intentions. they seek my happiness, not to become a perfect wife and this is what they learned from religion. we’re all not perfect believers, but tell me, how come my parents treat me so well as a women when the only portrayal of muslim families we are given are just misogynistic? the problem isnt in the religion (despite not being perfect either) its in the people/person themselves/itself and everyone fucking ignores that and loooove to blame islam instead. every. time.

I've been gone for a year and I just wanna reiterate for those who are new here on where i stand:

Fuck vegans. Learn about agricultural practices by actual farmers before you open your mouth about agriculture.

You wanna help animals being hurt by commercial farming? Spend a little more and get meat/ animal products from local farms in your area. Talk to local farmers, volunteer where you can.

Veganism has hurt our environment more then animal agricultural has ever done and I won't discuss this with you. If you really wanna know how its really worse look into it from good sources and not sources that fabricate bs that 99.99% vegan sources do.

And i wont change my tune when its nonwhite vegans speaking up. Y'all still practicing colonial ideals via veganism and y'all are still hurting brown folx farming your "organic" greens and grains and y'all still ignore that "vegan" alternatives to clothing is just straight up plastic. Yall still harming indigenous folx around the world w your need for the next vegan superior. Y'all still support companies that call people like my family "savages".

Veganism is harmful to your health and to the world and that doesnt change cuz you're not white, sorry to tell you the truth.

Again I will not waste my time discussing this w ppl. Y'all choose your own life and if you ignore those youre either directly or indirectly hurting thats on you, and i wont waste my free time to argue that when you cn do your own research and make your own opinions if you actually care about the subject.
