How can the Oracle Crystal see the Future?

Today we have a story about how this thing here…
…actually does NOT see anyone’s future! >:D We’ll find out how it’s even possible to glimpse into someone’s future, why it’s not predetermined, and we’ll also figure out how freeing the Oracle from the stone could have influenced anyone’s fate. Let’s go!
Laplace’s Demon
So, we’ll start with a thought experiment proposed by the French mathematician Pierre-Simon Laplace in 1814. Laplace imagined a super-being that would be able to know and understand the position and momentum of every particle in the universe.
Thus, as Laplace argued, this being, knowing how the particles interact with each other, could simultaneously be aware of both the entire past and the entire future of the universe with 100% accuracy. In other words, our concept of time would be irrelevant to it.
And this is very reminiscent of our case. If this Oracle Crystal can somehow, for example through the Binding, conditionally scan the entire Atmos, then with sufficient computing power, it could indeed produce variants of a possible future. Kind of like that thing from Phineas and Ferb; it worked exactly on that principle.
However, as is often the case, reality has slightly different plans for us. In that case, it turns out that this "picturesque" landscape that the Oracle showed to Aerrow…
…would not just be a possible future, but an inevitable one. That is, even the fact that Aerrow learned about this future, even the fact that he tried to prevent it, all of this was already predetermined from the very beginning, and this future is nothing more than a consequence of all the decisions that Aerrow would inevitably make trying to avoid it.
But as the Oracle said, if he freed her, the future would take a different path. And to understand this, we… once again have to remember quantum mechanics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle
So, I’ll be brief. As we already know, Laplace’s demon needs to know the position and momentum of all particles simultaneously to see the future. And… in 1927, the German physicist Werner Heisenberg said that this is impossible! >:D
It turns out that the more precisely we know the position of a particle, the more uncertain its momentum becomes, and the more precisely we know the momentum, the more uncertain its position becomes. And thus our Laplace’s demon runs into the butterfly effect.
In short, this term was proposed by the American meteorologist Edward Lorenz in 1961 when he was modeling the weather on a computer and discovered that because the computer truncated fractions to "only" 6 digits, the simulation results with the same initial conditions each time were completely different.
That is, any error in the initial conditions will ultimately lead to the fact that Laplace’s demon will be able to produce many different variations of the future, which may or may not coincide with reality. It just depends on how the cards fall.
And this in turn means that what the Oracle showed Aerrow… was just one option, conditionally what would happen if Cyclonis won, and her release didn’t affect anything at all. She tricked him, in short, just made him break the stone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And the same goes for the Guardians when they told Aerrow that they saw Atmos without him…
…but that’s a whole different story. :D
