she feels immense    GUILT    for always falling ill    &    inconveniencing bon .    rachel knows that every time she’s bedridden ,    bon is the one that tends to her throughout the night .    rachel hates being a burden ,    she hates making those she care abt worry   ?

bon was the   first   person rachel told abt her pregnancy .    not angelina ,    not vincent ,    not her parents ,    but bon    &    i think that speaks volume of how impt she is to rachel .

          rachel  suddenly  stands     (     half  -  tamed  hair  taking  the  brush  right  out  of  bonamy’s  hands     ) ,    pivoting  to  face  her     ————     lithe  arms  wrap   ‘round  the  other    excitingly .    ❛     oh ,    bonnie    !     you’re  an  absolute    angel ,    i  tell  you .     fret  not ,    he’s  not  the  one .     besides     ———     `     she  loops  her  arm   ‘round  bonamy’s.     ❛    who  needs  a  man  when  i’ve  got  you    !!     `

          ‘pon reading the note ,   rachel immediately puts it over the candle    (    countenance neutral as it disintegrates ,   until only ashes remain    ).    it was from the queen    ———    she detailed her grievances    &    as the countess she’s to look into it  …   this will be her first request as per the queen.

          gloved hands crumple the fabric o’er her chest ,   as if it can calm the unease parading in her chest.   however ,   even when her heart pounded against her ears ,   bonamy’s gentle query catches her attention  …   within the maid’s hold ,   a pair of black gloves.  

          a subconscious gnaw on the insides of her cheeks ,   a fruitless attempt to suppress distant memories.    vincent never allowed her to help him put on his gloves  …   it was a  symbol  that her beloved was no longer    ——    he is was earl phantomhive ,    the queen’s watchdog.    now ,   was it time for  her  to lose a part of herself   ?    a quiver lingers on fingertips as she discards her white gloves for the black pair.   ocean blues stare down at it.    they’re but a pair of black gloves now ,   but  …  as blood soak these hands ,   is her soul damned beyond salvation   ?

          if she was honest ,   she didn’t care.    a life without vincent ,   a life without her children was a life not worth living  …   it’s just    ——    her gaze falls on bonamy ,   the darkness in her eyes unreadable.   to drag her cherished friend into this  …   it may be her last regret.    however ,   despite everything ,   she’s  grateful.    even if she can never rid her hand of blood ,   even if death trails her heels ,   she’s glad her children need not walk down this path.   she’s glad that vincent is free from these chains.
