And for my end-of-pride-month craft project this year, here is my mini progress flag quilt!!

It was a ton of fun, and a great way to use up some random charm packs I had no idea what to do with 😆. Soon it will be a wall hanging for my door!!

It’s postage-stamp-ish (1.5” squares, because the charms I started with were 4” that I cut into quarters) here’s the unquilted top:

And the finished back!!

It’s hard to see, but the quilt lines are horizontal on the striped part and are chevrons on the arrow part!!

I was going to make the pattern all pretty to share but I ran out of time, so have my messy handwritten one.

Davrin Week 2026 - Day 2: Halla

For @datvcompanionweeks Davrin Week this year, I made a cross-stitch pattern that I've been thinking about for YEARS. I had an image of a young Davrin encountering the Golden Halla once he began his travels in Thedas, and having a calm & quiet moment of connection with it. I also incorporated his vallaslin pattern in blue.

I didn't get a chance to start stitching this yet, so I may make some slight changes to the pattern, but for anyone who wants to stitch it themselves, it's in the Davrin Week collection on ao3 here!

I've been watching video game streams while working on my cross-stitch projects, and have really been enjoying Secret Sleepover Society especially. Last week they played the game Bookshop Simulator, and Jacob made a joke that BDSM should stand for "Books Do So Much"

That struck me as so funny, it's exactly the type of slogan you would expect to see in a cross-stitch or on a bookmark at the school book fair. And then I realized I had extra cross-stitch bookmarks on hand, and could make my own BDSM bookmark pattern!! It was a great break from my bigger project, and it amused me greatly the whole time I was stitching.

I hope it also brings you joy that this exists now.

My bookmark was made of 16ct aida, and I used 2 strands DMC floss, but this pattern should also fit easily on a 14ct bookmark.

Taash Week day 7 - Free Day!

I was very ambitious for my @datvcompanionweeks Taash week project this year, and as such I'm not quite finished with it yet! But I decided to share my WIP on "free day", because I got to a good stopping point and I'm very very pleased with how they look so far!

This project has been a real exercise in "Trust the process," because every so often I would start thinking "This looks like a mess! What am I even doing??" and then I stepped back and I'd go "OMG IT'S TAASH!!! I LOVE THEM!!!"

I based this on a screenshot of Taash during their "Feed the birds" quest. This is how they look at Rook right after that first flirt option ❤️ I redrew the screenshot in pixel-art form, then converted that to a cross-stitch pattern! I still have to finish stitching their armor, and then I'll post the final draft of the pattern. This is definitely the most "realistic" looking cross-stitch pattern I've drafted so far, and it's in a style I'm not as skilled at rendering & stitching, but for Taash I would try anything!

Bellara Week 2026 - Day 6: Hummingbird

For @datvcompanionweeks' Bellara Week this year, I made a cross-stitch pattern inspired by her dangly triangles earring combined with the prompt "Hummingbird."

I'd already chosen the Calliope hummingbird as the perfect animal to represent her, both for it's beautiful iridescence and also for the fact that it migrates so far despite its small size.

I really had fun making something that was very subtly geeky, but that still is clearly inspired by the pattern of Bellara's iconic earring. Also this is the first "realistic" style animal I've ever made a pattern for, and I am very pleased with it! (even with my miscounting errors!)

I stitched this on 22ct aida, which means that this little bird is 7.5cm long... which is life size!!! I didn't have time to fill in the entire petit point background, but I think it still looks good where I stopped, and I wanted to post it on time!

Plus, I made a minute-long stop-motion video of stitching this piece, which is kind of entrancing to watch. In real time it took... FAR LONGER than that, lol

part of me really wants to just start on that Vivienne cross stitch project, and another part feels like the pattern is not clean enough yet... and another part wants to just jump to making an entirely new pattern out of something.  lol
