Perfect for voiceover work, loud guitar amps and everything in between. This new, 65-square-foot soundproof room is adjacent to the live room and will wired up for a variety of audio needs. Just wrapped day 3 of recording a great band from Toronto-by-way-of-Brooklyn. Drums are in the bag, hence the resting mics.

Recording big (and I mean big) drums today

My go-to approach starts with a Glyn Johns. Then the 421s wind up on the vintage Slingerland toms. An EV of some kind ends on up on the matching snare. A D112 creeps into the 24" birch kick, and a wurst mic hovers over it. Then the room mics go up. Next thing you know it's spaghetti time at the input box. And the at patch bay, sending the operative signals through crunchy eight Tascam 388 channel strips and some compression.

Boom bap is born.
