SEND ME “HOW’D YOU GET THIS?” FOR MY MUSES REACTION TO YOURS TRACING ONE OF THEIR SCARS AND ASKING HOW THEY GOT IT.
She thought he knew every inch of her by now, every scar telling a story of one point or another in her life. Some are less pleasant, but those Erik knows better than to ask about. This one is small though, a little silvery line across the small of her back. Maybe it's too inconspicuous to have been noticed before, unlike the jagged lines of pink and purple that still find their way scattered across her skin. "That one? That one's nearly as old as I am." Magda responds quietly to his touch, sandy skin fully exposed by the low dipping back of her sundress. She's usually so careful to keep her skin hidden, to let those scars find comfort beneath layers of fabric, but in the company of her oldest and dearest friend she sees no reason to hide. No reason to pretend to be something she's not, even if the sunlight will see her skin searing to an even deeper shade of burnt sugar. "I'm not proud of this, but you can laugh if you want." She'll give him the invitation to tease her, because deep down she's laughing too, cheeks flushing pink as she bites back a grin and shakes her head to try and rid the embarrassment from her mind. "When I was four, my Matka told me the story of Peter Pan. You know, the whole renegade shadow, fairy mischief, pirate debacle? I took it a little more literally than I should've done - and armed myself with some 'pixie dust' which turned out to be cinnamon, and my happy thought, so I could jump out of the first floor window in the hope of flying." Seated at his side, Magda cringes, laughing at her own naivety from her happy vantage point of the dewy field they're in. She misses days like this, of smiling and telling stories, without fear of what was to come after or the awkwardness that should linger between them. "I wasn't completely reckless though, I did put a cushion or two down…I just happened to miss them completely and land on a plant pot. Which is why I have the scar. My Matka had to stitch me back together."
