There was a time when only anger and contempt was conveyed in his actions. When he's feeling triggered the world and everyone else is behind a thick wall of glass. His only response is to lash out. However, after he rekindled his relationship with his friends and gotten to experience his wish, that side of him slowly became tamer and tamer. It still lingers, but it’s exposed rarely. He’s felt more like the kid he used to be before he went to Australia. Bringing back that romantic sense of things. Such drastic polar ends on the spectrum, if one would think about it. But if there is a way for him to respond to confrontation, it would be with his teeth bared. Much like a mirror, he reacts to hostility in the same manner it’s been thrown at him. And thus he could get himself into trouble occasionally.
His goal is to return without his mother or Gou seeing him. So for that, he’d mentioned he’ll be staying somewhere else for a day or two. His aim is to rent a hotel room until he can conceal the bruises on himself at least. There’s some guilt swelling in his chest, knowing he’d promised his mother to stay over for a while before he has to leave again. His trail of thought is cut short when he hears a familiar voice call out to him.
He stops on his tracks, his head is dipped low, with the maroon locks hanging over his face. It’s not enough to conceal his busted lower lip. But there’s a fire in his gaze that he’s been hiding. One of disdain for the person he’d gotten in a fight with. He can’t tell Makoto he ran into delinquents. Rin used to make acquaintances with a few in the past but that ceased. And it must be why they saw him as some sort of threat when he refused to interact or have anything to do with them.
A pair of hands grip onto him and as though the ground becomes steady beneath his feet. He’s been spacing out and not realizing the pain to his leg. Good thing though, this was worth it. By propelling his leg he blocked a promising hit, which allowed him to get away with a few injuries here and there.
Makoto is talking to him and he’s processing everything. Lifting his head where the curtain of red strands reveals his eyes, he looks at Makoto. He does look worried. A hum-like sound emits like a puff of air through Rin’s nose. Great. If he didn’t shock his mother and sister, then it would’ve been a friend.
“I’ll be fine. What’s a little roughhouse? I can take it. And I did. They won’t be coming to me again.” He can afford to be a little complacent about it.
“Oh.” Rin considers Makoto’s offer. Well, the further away from his family the better for now. But his father must be watching over him right now. He wouldn’t want to disappoint him.
The shark gives a nod of agreement, “Yeah. Guess, I’m lucky to be on my feet, heh. And sure. Wouldn’t want to bother you with this, though.”
