Today was a lovely sunny day, and I went out taking photos of places in my part of town for Wikipedia. It's a good way to encourage myself to take a walk.

I try to take pictures of everything Wikipedia has an existing record about if that record doesn't have a picture.

But I also take pictures of anything interesting I see, and at least one in every street.

For example… I live in Ordsall, a small part of a city called Salford which is part of an even bigger city called Greater Manchester, in England.

Today I saw apple trees in blossom around Ordsall Hall…

and the Libyan Consulate…

…and this path.

The Wikipedia description I wrote explains more:

A long time ago, this path ran along the edge of a school field. Then the school was closed and the building torn down. For decades it became wasteland, where kids would play and lovers would meet— a rare scrap of wilderness in the middle of a dirty old town. Now all the scrub and trees have been cut down, and grey hoardings put up while they build new houses. We need the housing, yet I'm sad for the people who loved the wasteland.
