Festive Red Velvet Oreo Truffles for Any Celebration These delightful truffles combine the rich flavor of Red Velvet Oreos with a creamy center, coated in light green candy melts, making them a perfect treat for any festive occasion. Ingredients 24.4 ounces Red Velvet Oreos (approximately 44 cookies) 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature 15 ounces light green candy melts Red candy hearts (for decoration) Instructions Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Make Oreo Crumbs: In a food processor, add the Oreo cookies and pulse until you get fine crumbs. If you dont have a food processor, place the cookies in a zip-top plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Combine with Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Blend with an electric hand mixer on high speed until smooth. Add the Oreo crumbs and mix until fully combined. Form the Oreo Balls: Using a 1.5-inch cookie scoop, scoop the mixture and roll it into smooth balls with your hands. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet. Chill the Oreo Balls: Refrigerate the balls for at least 2 hours to ensure they hold their shape while dipping. Melt the Candy Coating: Set aside 1/2 cup of the green candy melts if you want to use it for a drizzle. In a double boiler, melt the remaining green candy melts over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Be careful not to overheat or let any water get into the candy, as this can cause it to seize. Dip the Oreo Balls: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each Oreo ball into the melted candy. Tap the fork on the edge of the pot to remove any excess. Place the coated balls back onto the baking sheet. Add Drizzle and Heart Decoration: If desired, melt the reserved candy melts for a drizzle. You can microwave them in a microwave-safe piping bag on a low (defrost) setting for 30-second intervals, massaging the bag in between until smooth. Snip a small tip off the bag and drizzle over the coated balls. Before the drizzle sets, place a red candy heart on each Oreo ball. Chill to Set: Place the Oreo balls back in the refrigerator until completely set. Serve and enjoy!
