A few more of my Aether babies. Laelia has been one of my favorite Aethers that I've hatched and I was so happy when I got Orfelia.

213. Orfelia, by Joanne M Harris
Owned?: No, library Page count: 218 My summary: Fay has found herself spiralling since the death of her daughter - but when she comes across some strange people on her morning run, she realises not all is as it seems. Now, she must journey to the Underworld to get her back; but is this as impossible as it sounds? What will she have to give up, to see her daughter again? My rating: 5/5 My commentary:
I’ve read exactly three of Joanne M Harris’ works - all from this same series, novellas based on Child Ballads. One, the Blue Salt Road, I was kinda so-so on (read my thoughts here!); another, A Pocketful of Crows, I liked well enough but didn’t completely love. What, I wondered to myself, was the secret ingredient that would make me love one of these books? Well, with Orfelia, I have the answer. It’s ‘an intimate familiarity with the source material’! Who’d a thunk it.
